Myspace Comments | Myspace Graphics | Myspace SurveysBorn as Joseph Micallef; in art known as Jo Micali, kicked off his love for making music as a teenager. He began making tracks on his playstation, using very limited sounds. He made good tracks, despite his limitations in productions. He then sent a demo to Malta’s top DJ, JJoy, who was quite amazed at the fact that Jo made that quality of material using his playstation. JJoy saw very clearly that this guy had what it takes to make quality trance tunes, and told Jo to switch to using Logic 5.5 on a Macintosh laptop. He also introduced Jo to Glenn Frantz, who then gave him some basic knowledge on how to use this new software. Within weeks Jo got the hang of things, mastered Logic, and started to produce new material. Upon hearing this new material, JJoy was very impressed and signed Jo to his record label Real Muzik. He also started a side project with Jo called Fahrenheit, which was also added to the Real Muzik roster. Influenced by the likes of Ferry Corsten, Martin Roth, Mike Shivers and so many more top trance producers, Jo is nowadays also evolving unique sounds of his own. He is now working in the Real Muzik Studios which is equipped with Logic 7.2, and two very powerful Macs. After new software and plug-ins are added, Jo spends long hours at these studios mastering his sounds and looking for new ones. He is currently working on remixes for the likes of JJoy & Jan Johnston, Mr.Sam & Kirsty Hawkshaw, and also the hit summer single: Your Loving Arms, by Karen Overton. His first releases mesmerized all! These releases consist of his first four tracks, and have been released on Real Muzik. These four tracks are currently doing quite well on various MP3 Download sites. These tracks are also being played on various local and international radio shows. One can see a promising future for young Jo, who’s passion for dance music is very strong. As he says, “Music is my energy; it’s a way of life.”
