The Diplomatic Brothers Music trip started with two individuals who have been always fascinated by music. Clint has always been an avid follower of different music genres keeping up with upcoming trends. Having been good friends since childhood, they used to have never ending chats about their idol and role model Sasha, and his steps in the music industry. When Clint left for Germany to pursue his studying, he started using music more and more as a means to express himself. After a brief intro to Traktor, Clint started experimenting with mixes, with Luke providing the much needed feedback over online chats. Dedicating his free time to music and with Luke providing feedback, Clint improved his technique. Back for a short holiday in Malta, Clint and Luke played their first set together during a small party between friends. Immediately feeling the connection, and inspired by their friends Tenishia, Luke and Clint pounced upon the idea of starting their own duo.
Luke, bought his first set of headphones in 2003. Being a student he started his djing on a PC rather than decks. A few months later Luke started doing the occasional gig, mainly with Tenishia. Visiting the Tenishia studios when the studios were being set up, Luke was given intros to music productions, whilst he helped troubleshoot the computers when these went bust. Keeping in touch with Clint online, both showed interest in each others' music, one nurturing the others' tale, and frequently discussing the idea of collaborating. Clint's brief stint back in Malta gave them the right opportunity to play their first set together, with Tenishia in attendence.
When Clint completed his studies in October of 2006, the next logical step was the combination of their talents as a duo. being such close friends, the word brothers had to feature in the name, and the art of diplomacy in getting people to dance your own way. On the first gig as a duo, Tenishia listening for the 2nd time were impressed by the progress and offerred full supprt including full access to the Tenishia studios. Club gigs started at Plush club in Paceville, followed by Silk Club in colloboration with Tenisha for I Love Prog nights. The next boost DB got was when they got to know Richard C at Mircales DJ Factory in Bugibba. Again Richard loved the style and offerred them support, and a Sunday Residency at Miracles. With Miracles being one of the most frequented clubs in Winter, the guys quickly gained popularity and more opportunties were offerred. They played at several gigs amongst them Fra Ben and LoveSexy in DJ Ruby's arena. During the same time, DB had a number of side projects. Experimenting with their own productions (Tutorial), and the winning of the Bay Radio CreamFields competition provided more exposure, and their mixes now hit the airwaves with a bang. Ruby's Vital Grooves, Toby's Wall of Sound, Moovin House (Miss Roberta), as well as the internationally known Di.fm, all featured mixes by Diplomatic Brothers.
The guys love challenges, and have highest aspirations. Plans for the future include ways and means of debuting internationally. They're in touch with a number of international DJs and agencies, and are looking for other opportunites both locally and aborad. Eventually both would love to have the opportunity to learn more about technology in Music, possibly studying at Manchester Midi school after finishing their current IT degrees.
