At only 21 years of age, Stu Cox is already emerging as one of the UK 's most exciting and talented new DJ's. With influences from just about every possible style of music, Stu's unique approach to the technical side of mixing and genre fusion make him rise above the competition as one DJ working to be truly original.

It is through precise use of sampling and looping, 'intelligent' use of effects and harmonically combining pieces of music that Stu achieves this goal, all laid out through an immaculate selection of new and upfront tracks, classics and his own unique versions of tunes, as well as giving a lot of support to unsigned artists. Already he has had the opportunity to play alongside such names as Adam Sheridan (Goodgreef), hard dance man of the moment Greg Brookman (Nukleuz/Impact) and presenters for the new Radio 1 show 'The Residency', Jon O'Bir (Godskitchen) and Kutski (Tasty). Stu's forthcoming dates include some equally impressive lineups.

Tending to favour the styles of uplifting trance and hard trance, Stu also incorporates breaks, techno and hard house into these sounds. It is with this range of genres that he is able to tailor his sound to any given event or time or, most importantly, to the reactions of baying ravers on the dancefloor before him. It is not unheard of for, should the crowd demand it, entire breakbeat sets to be played and his 3-deck techno mix CDs have left those who have heard them begging for more.

Alongside the DJ work, Stu has also moved into the realms of music production, devoting his own time into achieving fresh upfront beats. Despite only being involved with writing music for just over a year, he already has an impressive array of original tracks, remixes and collaborations under his belt, with much more planned for the coming years. Right from his first track, 'Give In', a dark progressive trancer, to the energetic aural onslaught of 'Renegade', Stu has written in styles which perfectly complement the DJ sets he plays. The deviously entitled techno trio 'Lies', 'Manipulation' and 'Deceit', are some of Stu's most successful work to date, with 'Deceit' being played in clubs as far a field as Los Angeles by Dave Lea on the Slinky tour and 'Lies' being aired at Turnmills by The Gallery and Kiss FM resident, John Askew.
