Catania and Micali

Joseph Micallef aka Jo Micali, and Davide Catania met in the summer of 2006 through Malta’s top local DJ, J Joy. Sharing the same passion for trance, Catania & Micali, teamed up their forces and starting producing uplifting melodic trance. J Joy signed the two artists to his label Real Muzik, and fused Jo Micali and Davide Catania into Catania & Micali. Their influences include David West, Andy Moor, Jonas Steur, Kyau vs Albert, Above & Beyond, Martin Roth, Mike Shiver and Ferry Corsten along with many others. The goal of Catania & Micali is to produce quality trance, trance that is able to transmit sentiment, emotion and energy to the electronic scene. Their studio includes an Alesis Ion synthesizer teamed up with a Emu Xboard 61 controller used to control the various VSTI’s on the Logic Pro 7 sequencer, all hooked up to a powerful MAC G5 computer. To these young producers from Malta, the future looks quite promising. Supported by J Joy, Catania & Micali have all the cards to offer quality trance music to the whole electronic community.
