Bringing the World of Dance Culture to The World

About Me

ABOUSWAH is a concept, Developed from Pop, Fashion , Art and Dance Culture from the 1980's. At this time (The 1980's), People were willing to try to be as innovative as possible and creating their on style. Also at that time, us Club kids were Understanding and Respecting of what came before us. ABOUSWAH is a celebratory tribute to the People and the Culture of the Past, Present and Future!!!___________________________________________________ _________ Started DJing at the tender age of fourteen in 1981 on Chicago's south side, inspired by my Dad the Late Albert Armstrong. And as a club kid going to some of Chicago's most celebrated undergound venues in the 1980's and 1990's: The Powerplant (Frankie Knuckles DJ 1983-85), The Music Box (Ron Hardy DJ 1983-87, Lee Collins Friday Nights 1986), The R 2 Underground (DJ's Andre Hatchett & Brian Williams 1982-83), The Ritz (DJ Ron Hardy Sunday Nights 1983-84), The Mars Bar (DJ Jeff Davis 1980-82), The Smart Bar (Frankie Sells 1982-84), The Powerhouse (Frankie Knuckles DJ 1986-87, Ron Hardy DJ 1987-89, Andre Hatchett 1987-90, DJ Rush 1988-90), Gallery 21 (Frankie Knuckles DJ 1987), C.O.D.S (Frankie Knuckles DJ 1985-87, Ron Hardy 1986-88), Club LaRay's & Club House (Mike Ezebuku DJ 1986-90 & Mike Fields), Medusa's (1983-87), Coconuts (1982-86), Edge of the Looking Glass (Ron Hardy DJ 1989 -91 & Andre Hatchett), Bad Boys (Lee Collins DJ 1987-90 & Andre Hatchett), A K A'S (Frankie Knuckles DJ 1987-91 & Ron Hardy & Andre Hatchett), Foxy's (DJ's Freddie Bain & Elvis Leon 1992-93) The B Side (DJ's Brian Reeves & Brian Borden 1993-95) And Mad Bar (DJ Oscar McMillan 1996-99).
My exposure to this immense atmosphere, intensity and detail, it gave me the structure, the foundation, and the spirit of true Dance Culture. Also being educated by some of the most innovative, creative and imaginative DJS, it helped me grow and mature as a DJ. And it inspired me to give inspiration to such DJS as Anthony Nicholson and Ron Trent, and the list goes on. Music has been a huge part of my life! Now I am helping to shape Dance Culture by presenting the Best of Jazz, Nu-Jazz, Garage, Electro, Electronic, Afro-Beat, Broken-Beat, Dance, Underground and Urban Funk! Formed in 2006...
