About Me

Icons Collage MySpace Editor Photo Collage MySpace Backgrounds Glitter GraphicsHi, I studied classical guitar with Pablo Marquez, and Jazz at Strasbourg's Conservatory. I also studied with AL di Meola who I met when I was 17 and who taught me a lot about rhythm... I couldn't decide on any specialisation because I wanted to play everything...I know I won't anyway but I take my inspiration from very different contexts, such as South American , Oriental, African,Indian music and others..I had and Have the luck to play or/and record with some very good musicians from different cultures, Chemirani brothers (Iran), Dino Saluzzi (Argentina), Harris Lambrakis, Stelios Petrakis and Maria Simoglou (Greece), Ohmar Osman (Bouzouki player from Istanbul), Horacio " El Negro" Hernandez,(Drummer from cuba), Faytinga (Etrythrea), Sudeshna Battacharya and Prabhu Edouard (India), Gaguik Mouradian (Armenia), Seheno (Madagascar), Paolo Pandolfo (Baroque), Amaya Dominguez (Lyrical and sepharadic) ...All this in projects not easy to define as it s often a meeting of those different cultures, a way to look for music out of borders if I can say...I just like finding a way to say something in various contexts, improvising, experiencing and meeting... I also play Zarb, iranian drum that I learn with Keyvan and Bijan Chemirani Guitar players such as Ralph Towner, Sylvain Luc and Pablo Marquez inspired me in that way of thinking, guitar as an instrument before all...And music first. I also compose and arrange pieces for guitar or more, inspired from many experiences I talked about before. And since January 2008 I teach Oriental percussions at "Abbaye de Royaumont" near paris.I played in festivals or places such as "Nykobling Jazz festival" (Dannemark), "Tango and more" (Lecce,Italy) , Mulhouse" international Baroque Music festival", "Eremitage" (Austria) , "EthnoJazz" (Thessalonique, Greece) , Institut du Monde arabe (Paris), "Gitare Café" (Istanbul), Festival des Suds à Arles, Festival de guitare d'Issoudun, Palais Chaillot (France)---------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------MANAGEMENT/BOOKING, please contact: Arnaud GERMAIN/E-Mail: [email protected] ------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------ --------------------------------------
