MySpace Ticker Lyrics
How much time do you have? :-)
I have been blessed with a little talent, athletic ability, an IQ that passes double digits, and some of the greatest friends anyone could ask for. I grew up with a full Grand Piano in our living room and a Father who was an incredible concert pianist. My mother, god forgive her, who was not a musician but loved music, turned me on to people I still listen to. Fred Astaire, Maurice Chevalier, Judy Garland, Louie Armstrong... I remember being 5 years old and dancing though the room to Big Band Music.
To say my musical taste is eclectic is an understatement. I started classical piano at 6, but at 9, I heard Segovia and mowed yards and later worked at a Burger King until I could buy a decent classical guitar. While playing at Folk Masses (church) I took lesson for 4 years from a friend who later became a pretty well known musician, and discovered Blues and Rock N Roll. I have been playing classical guitar, electric guitar and keyboards ever since.
I also have been an adrenalin junky for over 50 years. Flying airplanes since I was a kid,(even getting paid minimum wage for it for years) Motocross, racing anything I could, competitive volleyball (USVBA State Champions), basketball (College, county and city champions more times then I can remember),surfing, more surfing (The best therapy every) extreme water skiing... I am paying for it now.
During this time of indestructibility, I met my guardian angel but did know it. She hovered in my heart and mind for years. In the early 1990's fate would give me a second chance to make right what should have been done in the 1980's. I made my Angel my wife and have been guarded over with love and protection since. Only an Angel could deal with me and I never thought I would change for anyone. I have found my starr that has been steering me to the right port in a stormy life.
I am approaching being the 2 million dollar man. Knee surgeries and several back surgeries have come close to the $2 million mark. I just got back fro Atlanta (last week of June) after having surgery to replace broken parts and failed fusion from one of my previous surgeries. Thank god for insurance. I feel for those who don't have it and I now have much more patience for people in pain. I used to have no sympathy for people who were always complaining about their back pain. I do now but complaining does no good. Get help!
Take care of your body, it is the only one you have!
For my fellow musicians, I'll be back! Miss it too much to let something this "small" get in the way.
My main instruments are an 80's Martin D18 with a Fishman pickup. My favorite guitar is a customized black Fender Stratocaster. It is set up to fit me like a glove. It is also my "Little Feat Guitar". The case is covered with stickers and travel stickers; it reads like a history book. It also has some of my favorite people's autographs. Paul Barrere, Fred Tacket, Bill Payne, Shaun Murphy, Kenny Gradney, Sam Slayton, Richie Haywood, Jimmy Buffett, Mac McAnally, Chris Rodriguez, Eric Clapton, Emmylou Harris and a few others. It also has Paul Barrere artwork. If I ever sell the Strat, I may keep the case!. Then there is my special guitar. A 62 Gibson SG. I have spent hours playing it while I have been recovering from multiple surgeries. It is light, plays different than the Strat and has great classic humbuckers.
And to my shining Starr, my guardian angel, more love than I can express.
