Music (that's why I'm here!), massage (that's why I do it for a living :-), alternative healing of all kinds (because good health is important to me), movies (especially if there are any cute guys in them ;-), dancing (my favorite kind of exercise, right up there with sex ;-), yoga (my other favorite exercise), reading (especially non-fiction because I love to learn), hikes in the woods (one of my favorite places to be where I feel at peace), making new friends (you, I hope :-)
New friends. I love to make new friends from all over. I just love people and love getting to know them. If we click online, maybe one day we will meet in person. I am an open honest person who believes that one can never have too many friends in too many places. I like men, women, younger, older, as long as you're friendly, open and honest like me. I like knowing people I have a connection with, whether it's having something in common, enjoying conversation, an emotional bond, or a spiritual or energetic connection. I believe that everyone we meet affects us and that whatever happens in our lives happens for a reason. If we connect, it was meant to be. Oh...and I'd also love to meet Kevin Costner just so I could tell him how much I love him in Bull Durham. ;-)
I love classic rock, bluegrass, jazz, cajun, jambands, anything that makes me wanna move! I am a Deadhead from way back and one of my favorite bands to see live is Little Feat. They are so hot!! I go to Jamaica on the Little Feat fan excursion every year. Check them out! Lately I have been getting into all the jambands, especially jamgrass bands. Some of my favorite current bands to see live besides Little Feat are the Subdudes, Radiators, Railroad Earth, Entrain, Yonder Mountain String Band and Hot Buttered Rum String Band. I also love very talented singer-songwriters. Some of my favorites are Jim Boggia, Amos Lee and Jonah Smith. They are awesome! I always enjoy going to hear live local music too. I always try, when I can, to introduce myself to the musicians and let them know how much I appreciate their music. Sometimes you can find me out dancing at a bar where my friends play in local cover bands. In addition to listening and dancing to music, I play classical piano and dabble on the guitar a little. I also have a Native American frame drum that I play for healing purposes. Music brings me so much joy! I can't imagine life without it. If you want to know my favorite music, check out my top myspace friends.
I love movies. Some I can watch over and over again. I like dramas, thrillers, romantic comedies, and old Bogart movies. Some of my favorite movies are Bull Durham, Field of Dreams (gotta love Kevin Costner in those), Little Big Man, Memento, An Officer and a Gentleman, Titanic, Casablanca, Top Gun, Shawshank Redemption, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting.... Oh, I could go on and on. I love to snuggle up on a couch with a cup of latte and watch a movie in the comfort of my home...or see one on the big screen holding hands with a special friend.
TV usually bores me. Occasionally I may watch a good show, but I never keep up with any of them. I like the Gilmore Girls. I liked some of the older shows that aren't on anymore, like LA Law, ER, Hill Street Blues. Sometimes I like to watch the non-fiction shows that are on Discovery, the History Channel, the Learning Channel, PBS. I especially like shows about the paranormal and mysteries, such as Unsolved Mysteries. But usually, I have better things to do and I'd just rather chat online with my friends.
As with television, I mostly enjoy reading non-fiction books, especially those related to alternative health or my other interests. I recently read "The Celestine Prophecy" and "Conversations with God". I am currently reading "Children's Past Lives" and a book about seeing auras. Occasionally, I may read a novel when I have time, but it has to be captivating, or I'll put it down and never finish it. I recently enjoyed reading The Lovely Bones. I enjoy true crime too. I also read magazines because sometimes that is all I have time for. I subscribe to Body and Soul, Relix and Prevention magazines. I have a long list of books I'd love to read, but don't have time to get to. I'm too busy having fun ;-)
I don't have any famous heroes. My heroes are my friends who are there for me when I need someone who cares, my family who I can count on to support and encourage me, my co-workers and colleagues who I learn from and fill in for me when needed, my teachers and coaches who help me to learn and guide me, my angels who watch out for me, my children who help me learn to be a better parent, my clients who prove that I am a healer and who put their trust in my work, and my soul mates who show me that I am worth loving.
