About Me

Drawing from a wide array of musical backgrounds and influences, The Recipe has become well known as one of the most original bands on the roots-rock/jamband scene. Roaring out of Morgantown, WV in 1995 with their debut cd "Love Marble Hoe Down", the band made their name known throughout the country as they developed a strong following due to their high-energy live shows and a heavy touring schedule. In the following years they became a fixture on the national club and festival scene. The band continued to stay busy, releasing "Night of The Porch People" in 1998, followed up in 2000 with "Geode", "All You Can Eat"(the first live CD) in 2003, and "Jubilee" in 2006. Throughout the years, the bands strong foundation has been maintained by Joe Prichard, carrying on The Recipe sound with amazing musicians, providing fans across the country with countless unforgettable live shows, and sharing the stage with artists such as String Cheese Incident, Moe, Les Claypool, Govt. Mule, The Derek Trucks Band, Bela Fleck and the Flecktones, Sam Bush, Donna The Buffalo and countless others. In 1999 the first annual Recipe Family Cookout was held in Terra Alta, WV and has continued to this day as a festival that is part festival and part family reunion, featuring three days of music, camping, football, and a food drive for local charities. This festival has featured such artists as Leftover Salmon, Keller Williams, John Cowan, Peter Rowan and Tony Rice resulting in unforgettable on stage colaborations. With the band's new website www.therecipefamily.com receiving thousands of hits a month worldwide, their five cd's finishing in the year-end top selling list on the well respected Homegrown Music Network annually, and the band's fifth CD "Jubilee" released to rave reviews and debuting at 12 on the Homegrown Charts, the best is still to come for The Recipe.
