Rock and roll gives us a microphone to speak to the world and has the power to bring generations, nationalities and all people together. Now more than ever, it is critical to study and understand how music is changing our world and continually reflecting it.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum stands as a monument to the living heritage of rock and roll music. Located on the shores of Lake Erie in Cleveland, this nonprofit museum educates visitors, fans and scholars from around the world about the history and continuing significance of rock and roll music.
The Museum is truly an interactive experience with the largest single collection of rock and roll memorabilia, five theaters and multiple interactive displays. The artifacts in the collection tell the stories of rock and roll’s greatest artists and help explain the music’s impact on the political, social and historical issues of Western culture.
The Museum also serves to honor all who have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In March 2008, the Museum will open a new exhibit showcasing 2008 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductees John Mellencamp, Leonard Cohen, Madonna, The Ventures, and Dave Clark Five.
