Influences: Portcullis are heavily influenced by playing at The Herstmonceux Medieval Festival. near Eastbourne.uk.Its a magical event where you feel you have been transported back to the middle ages, but with the plague and pestulence removed.Musically, Jason and Susie come from Rock based roots, and used to be lead guitarist and bassist in a band. Influences have come from Rainbow with Ronnie James DIO, Led Zeppelin, Black sabbath, DIO, Randy Rhodes, Joe Satrianni, Steve Vai, yngwie malmsteen (Im the fastest in the world I beat everyone). Deep purple,DIO, Thin Lizzy.This all May sound a bit strange when you consider the music we are doing, but thats an honest account of our influences.We also do ROCK music of course... check out STORMING EVE on this page. Jewel Artisans is us too........ oh and did we mention DIO.? The Cd " The Kings Return", conjures magical imagery of banquetting and celebration.It has colourful eastern tones, yet portrays medieval England at its finest! The music contains a contempory twist using tribal rock based rhythms. Enter the realm and become enchanted with the visions bestowed upon thee!
