About Me

That's right! I'm THAT guy. You betcha!

My Interests

Science, surgery, philosophy...the way things work, music & drums, recording, fixing up houses, hanging out, drinking, Scotch, wine or a beer. Having coffee while waiting in line late Sunday morning for a table at Magnolia, Omlettry, Cafe Java or any other locally owned Austin breakfast joint, real estate trends, photography, happy hour, sunrises and sunsets.

Music:

Yes. I like music. It sounds good and sometimes makes me tap my feet. I can like and appreciate all kinds. No exceptions.

Movies:

I do enjoy movies. "What movies do I like best?", you ask. I like movies that pull me out of reality for awhile. Oh yeah, and this includes stupid comedies as well. I can go all over the place with movies. I tend to have a pull towards the Arbor theater and love the Drafthouse; wine or beer and movies is neat.

Television:

I have no TV just s projector for movies. But used to watch National geo channel, Discovery, surgery, trauma and real ER stuff, NOVA is always cool. Anything on the brain, or outerspace. Family Guy is funny, so is Futurama. Not a big football or sports guy but can appreciate a good game.

Books:

Vonnegut (Slapstick/Galapagos) is my favorite fiction author. I am a slow/intermittent reader and have a pile of books on my nightstand that I hope to finish sometime before the end of the new century. Some of these books include; Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenence (very cool and enlightening so far), Overcoming Stagefright in Everyday Life (this deals with psychology from childhood) , Game of Life by Timothy Leary, Galapagos (Vonnegut) and some others. I also really like Prometheus Rising by Robert Anton Wilson. This is a great guide/map to the circuits of the mind and addresses religion, philosphy, mass halucination and the mind body connection, oh yeah, and how to brainwash friends. A must read.

Heroes:

What? Am I in grade school....Ummmm. Mom. All the truly selfless people in the world.
