"BATALIS sounded like a flower name You gave me the thornes and I took all the blame All these years between us have built up a wall of flames Now you're gone,I'll be reaching my fame......" (Thierry Cognee)Producer:Thierry Cognee Recorded by:James Stevens Mastered by:Jim Wilson at Airshow Mastering Graphic-design: Photographie: Publishing:Batalis project contact:[email protected] : www.myspace.com/batalisproject :www.myspace.com/biscuit_rollersMusicians:Thierry Cognee:guitars Rob Jewett:upright bass Walter White: blues and chromatic harp Nicolas Leophonte:drums Ray Strucker:trumpet, trombone(arr.) Jose Daleame from Grupo Fantasma:percussions Sydney Barrosse:vocalSpecial Thank's:to God and all the good people He put on my route,we all have to fight our own demons and in spite of everything having been said about the U.S.A, AMERICA,like we tend to say in Europe,is and can be a great country to live in. I really hope this project will open doors that I tend to keep closed...... Also to help me to forgive myself as I forgave my mother. (Thierry Cognee)Songs: -BATALIS(Thierry Cognee) -HARLEM NOCTURNE (Earle Hagen) -AWAY DOWN The ALLEY BLUES(Lonnie Johnson) -BLUES RUN The GAME (Jackson C.Frank)About the producer: Coming from Paris (France) straight to Austin TX 15 years ago with the head full of American music that I was listening with passion while living in Paris.I wanted to learn and feel the "roots"from this music on its own land learning the American language in the process........ I use to lead 3 bands, the first one,The Biscuit Rollers got quite a good response from the public, because of a self produced c.d "One Kind Favor"having been played on national and international radio stations about 8- 9 years ago, unfortunatly and as required when the record was played on the air, this band wasn't able to provide too many gigs for multiple reasons.....This lead to the split of the Biscuit Rollers after having been together for about 4 years with 2 different line up......I decided to learn how to read music and learn some jazz guitar, dedicating myself to my new craft for 3 years.........In order to use my new reading skills,a little jazz combo"round Midnight"was born practicing and gigging around for 2 years.......After a "slow" period of time,I decided to go back to my first love, Rocking Blues, Rockabilly music, combining my fingerpicking skills with a "dirty" sound.....With the help of a talented singer,The "Cognac's were born and lasted for 2-3 years, after a good response from the audience.Today,I occasionally play with a blues singer named Orange Jefferson.......It seems like being 51 years old now,my life needs to take a new turn, hopefully getting me involved in a score or a soundtrack for the movie industry.......I hope that you'll enjoy the music from this project. As I'd like to "see" BATALIS on a big screen!!....
