TORSION VIDEO COVERING THE CURE'S "TORTURE"
The name Torsion originates from the book, 'The Dancing Wu-Li Masters'. The definition, 'a violent wrenching and twisting' captures the intensity of the music and lyrics.
Torsion began with George, William, Kathryn, a Korg, an Alesis QS8, and a PC. After several months of writing and practicing the group was ready to share their musical vision. Note that, early on, there was no guitarist present in the lineup. It was not until the summer of 1999 that Jef graced the stage as Torsion's live guitarist. In the interim, many sequenced sounds were used to fill the sonic landscape during live performances; and Paul Matuch was the studio-man extraordinaire for Torsion's first two recorded albums.
In 2004 Torsion began creating their new disc "Faded", an 11 track album recorded at "No Outlet Studios." Torsion then employed the talents of Tom Baker at Precision Mastering to Master the disc. Tom's best work can be seen with NIN, Stabbing Westward, STP, and Pantera to name a few.
The CD is available Now.

Influences:

NIN - Trent brought electronic music to a whole new level. They have shown that bands can sell complex musical and emotional themes.

David Bowie - He is a chameleon, able to adapt his music to the times. He doesn't sell out, he's just not afraid to change and experiment.

Cure - No one can beat their vibe. They have a mystery and mood about them that stems from the lyrics and guitar lines.

Alice In Chains - The harmonies are fabulous, and they have such a powerful, dirty guitar sound.

Garbage - They have well crafted songs and a great stage performance. And who doesn't admire Shirley's bad ass persona.

Tori Amos - She is very strong and independent. Many of her songs are edgy and raw, and the blend of the piano and live band is well balanced.

Stabbing Westward - Their music and stage show contain great emotional intensity. They effectively blend their live instruments with their electronic elements.
