I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I am like the wolf at your door...the wolf you fear because every time you come home, I get inappropriately excited and pee on your shoes. I am the chainsaw in your mashed potatoes. I am darkness, but with a creamy white center. Prone to fly into a murderous rage...but a gentle rage, filled with kindness and maybe even a nice little thoughtful gift. Nothing too expensive, but something that really says that you've been on my mind. I am like canned aerosol cheese under too much pressure that goes off and gets in your eye, but then you laugh, because hey--I just got cheese in my eye! When does that ever happen?? I am like a contradiction wrapped in something that is exactly the opposite of a contradition...which is then dipped in something mysterious and spooky. I am list of tacky metaphors. I am like the Underoos in the back of your drawer that you totally forgot about, but when you wear them to work under your business casuals, you just can't help but feel a little more like Spiderman.
Plus, I totally like video games.

My Interests

aviation, thinking, gaming (video, rpg, tabletop war), martial arts, drinking, reading, and whatever it is I end up doing when I'm asleep

I'd like to meet:

Your maker. If you see him first, however, tell him I said hi.

Music:

Mew, Cocteau Twins, Better Than Ezra, Innocence Mission, Marillion, Harry Connick Jr., NiN, Filter, Simple Minds, Duran Duran, Stabbing Westward, Keane, Massive Attack, Cure, Smiths, Queensryche, XTC, Dream Theater, AFI, Cactus World News, Radiohead, They Might Be Giants, Rush, Muse, Garbage, The Ocean Blue, Tori Amos, Siouxsie, Sting, The Sundays, The (English) Beat, Toad the Wet Sprocket, U2, Til Tuesday, Abba, Balligomingo, Darling Buds, Eric Johnson, books on tape

Movies:

Nothing to see here.

Television:

I've given up not watching TV. I'm just not that poor/progressive/intellectual/pretentious anymore. I built a DVR out of an old computer so that I can at least skip commercials. I hatehatehate commercials. It's not out of character for me to yell at them. ALL OF THEM. Anyway, now I regularly watch Arrested Development, Family Guy, Futurama, Scrubs, and Battlestar Galactica.

Books:

Fight Club, Foucault's Pendulum, and On the Road are my top 3 faves, but I've recently been reading the Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin, along with an assortment of other works, including the Tales of the Otori trilogy+1, Cloud of Sparrows, Man's Search for Meaning, Tao Te Ching, The Tao of Jeet Kun Do, and others not necessarily worth mention. I guess I tend towards philosophical works or fantasy. My first novel is going to be fantastic philosophy, I'm sure. (Good thing...philosophical horror wasn't panning out for me.)

Heroes:

Elizabeth Fraser, Glenn Quagmire, Bruce Lee, Gene Kelly, my parents
