I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm into social networking web sites, writing in my blog, surfing the web. I still work my treasure hunts from time to time. I collect two things: Books and Art. Books to stimulate the mind, Art to relax it. I'm a voracious reader. I will read anything BUT romance novels. My tastes in anything from movies, clothes, movies, books, cars, what ever, tends to be eclectic (if I hear that a book, a blog, a website, a magazine, movie has been banned in some way, I'm more inclined to want to read it, just to see what the fuss is about.) The most interesting thing that I'm currently reading is on-going. I'm doing my best to keep up on English-language news sites from around the world. If you know of any, please forward them to me. That is what freedom of the press is, the right to know what is going on, from ALL points of view (even if we think the people are goofy-looking). Once you read some of these sites for yourself, you will see that our media in the US is lying to us.

Here's a few news sites and blogs that I read on a regular basis (that aren't myspace):
Arutz Sheva Isreal National News
Arabnews.com Saudi Arabia News
(read both and get a very interesting perspective on what is REALLY going on over there,)
AllAfrica.com AllAfrica.com
BBC.com BBC home page

Religion, I'm a Christian who is looking for a church that trys celebrates the Sabbath , like the Bible says to. Rather than go into a long, drawn out discussion on that, follow this link: Mystery of the Ages . This book will explain everything for me, so much better than I ever could. (Have your bible handy when you read it.) I study prophesy, from all faiths, and it's proved to me that it's ALL RIGHT. It all says the same thing, we are headed for trouble, unless we wise up and work together. (Prophesy goes two ways, you know!) I saw the Dead Sea Scrolls when they came to Kansas City in 2007. When I stood there and saw those ancient parchments that said the same thing my bibles here do, it hit me: the truth of how REAL it really is. I pray that everyone could see that; it's not what the preacher or the doctorine says, it's what the book says. (Don't worry, I'm not a bible thumper, I won't try to get you 'saved'; Our Creator gave you the intelligence to find it out for yourselves. I won't force it down your throat, just tell you what I've learned) When you understand that, you will understand where I'm at on this issue. Now, to find a church that understands that, that poses a bit of a dilemma for me...

I've had alot of people ask me about what I believe happened that day. Here's what I think: I agree, the US media and our gov't is lying to us about what happened. If someone would have told you 10 yrs ago that the WTC and Pentagon would be destroyed, 4 major carrier airliners hijacked, thousands of people from all walks of life dead, because of box cutters you would have called that person a damn fool, right? Another 'Conspiracy nut' spouting off at the mouth, right? But the truth is, whether by chance or orchestrated, it happened. THAT'S the world we live in now. It's not up to the gov't to take care of us, protect us. It's up to us to protect ourselves.

Where do you stand, politically speaking? There is a very simple way to find out. Take The World's Smallest Politcal Quiz and find out. It will only take a few min of your time but can be a very enlightening experience. As you can see, I'm a Libertarian. I've been voting along those party lines since 1992. I see the changes taking place in our party and I don't like them. I would like to see the Radical Caucus take control of the party and bring it back to the original platform of 1972

What does that mean, to "vote your conscience"? Literally what it says. Don't vote for the guy/gal that all your friends support. Don't vote for who your drinking buddy at work is voting for. Don't vote for who your church family is voting for... you were given ONE vote: YOUR vote. People DIED For that single vote you have. There are people still dying around the world just to have THAT ONE VOTE. It does count! (If you don't think it counts, then there were a lot of lives lost for nothing then) That vote does not belong to anyone else BUT TO YOU. So NO ONE has the right to tell you which way it goes. If you don't think anyone on the ballot represents you, just put "NONE OF THE ABOVE" I've done it several times! But when you step into that booth, vote your gut. Vote your conscience. Educate yourself to ALL sides of the issue, and then you make the choice that is best FOR YOU. Then we will be able to get out the assholes that are in there and replace them with people that really are JUST LIKE US.

Christine Smith is in the Libertarian Primary for the Presidential nomination. Her platform is very easy to understand, it's the basic principles of the Libertarian party, without budging or compromising. Check out her site for yourself. I love to read her blog. She knows exactly how this mess should be handled. She has the grace, dignity, and the courage to do what needs to be done for US, the USofA. Read it for yourself, her blog is one of my favorite things to read (when you go to her site, may I recommend the blog dated 12/27/07 one of her best). The more I learn about Ms Smith, the more I'm pushing for her OVER Ron Paul. She's got the brains, she's got the platform, She's got the cajones to tackle the job (listen to some of her radio broadcasts at her site, you can also find Ms. Smith on youtube !) SHE is the candidate that I feel in my conscience, represents ME and what I stand for.

everyone crosses all social, political and idealogical bounds. There are a several places in his platform I have trouble with, but he is the lesser of the evils so to speak as far as the 'traditional' candidates. We will see if he choses the 'Party of Principle' and will stand on those principles. Dr Paul wants to bring back the Constitution and run this country the way it's supposed to be run. (Most of his ideas he 'borrowed' from the Libertarians.) I'm from Missouri, Show Me. He talks a good game, but can he get the nomination?

My ideal political ticket would be Christine Smith and Dr Paul, running together on one ticket. THAT would be a winner!

Wouldn't it be nice to see law enforcement and soldiers go after pedophiles armed this good? What gets priority in this country?

Everybody's favorite subject: Marijuana Legalization. HELL YES I'm for it. This "War on Drugs" is insane. Lives are lost, destroyed, families broken, life savings seized, all because of a plant... Come ON people! It's just a plant. The evidence is in. Marijuana, cannabis, hemp, wacky tabakky, doobie, what ever you call it: There are more reasons for marijuana to be legal than for it to be illegal. I remember seeing hundreds of family farms empty when I lived in the country. We had a good national economy until the family farms started going under in the late 1980's and 1990's. If these people could have grown hemp just for industrial purposes (food, paper, cloth, fuel, etc) those people might still have their land. As far as other drugs, hey if that's your bag, great. But I've seen first hand the damage that drugs like cocaine/crack, heroin, pcp, etc can do to people (IMHO Meth isn't a drug, it's toxic waste. Just look at what goes in it!). When a pot head gets more time in jail for a first offense in some states, while child molesters are let off with time served and probation? Something is wrong with those laws. Even if you choose not to partake, you have to admit the way the drug laws are written, it's not working. Legalize pot, rethink the laws on other drugs. There is another way to handle the problem with drugs in our society. Let's just work together and find it. Let's get our priorities straight! (Is legalizing marijuana 'Christian'? Would Jesus do it? I think so. I would dare speculate that his robe, the seamless one that the Roman soldiers gambled over at the Cross, could have been hemp cloth. Would not suprize me.)
Save the American Farmer! Revolutionize Health Care!
SAVE OUR ECONOMY!
LEGALIZE POT!!

I'm fun, friendly, and easy-going kinda gal most times. My bible tells me that I have to treat you the way you treat me (so be nice!!!) I'm just like everyone else, I have my opinions, I have my truths, and you have yours. I won't lie to you on purpose, but if I'm wrong, tell me then. I want to learn. I want to understand things (so please don't be annoyed if I ask 100 questions about something I read on your blog or you posted, anything you want to know, just ask, it's that simple). I put links up so that I hope you will follow them, see for yourself (please don't take my word for it!) and then maybe you and I can discuss things? Or you send me your links and we will go from there...

About the only thing that really annoys me are people who send friend requests, only to turn around and delete you. (you know who you are) No message, no comment, no 'Hey girl, that was messed up and I don't agree', just up and flat out delete you. Look thru my page, if you think we have enough in common to be friends, then send me a request. If not, if you do it just to delete people, then please don't bother. If you don't agree with something I say, then please message me, leave a comment, like a mature adult tell me what the problem is. Maybe we can work something out? I'm not totally unreasonable, ya know.

True to my Leo nature, I'm fiercely loyal and very protective of those I care about (yet I'm camera shy and really don't want the spot-light on me, one thing that is very 'un-leo like') Life is short... much to short. IDK about you, but I'm too tired to fight about anything anymore. Can we try to get along in this world? Get together, share a card game, a game of chess, a beer or glass of wine. Let's just say 'Ta hell with it' and enjoy ourselves! Let's laugh every chance we get, love everyone we can, and just try to put up with the rest or ignore the idiots. First thing we can do is to find 5 things we have in common, then go from there... If you think you know me, message me here or one of my other pages and we'll see... you just might be suprised at what you find.

Add to My Profile | More Videos

For some of my favorite videos for music, comedy, general stuff, go and look in my videos under favorites. This video, this is the ulimate war protest song. It rang true more than 30 yrs ago when another unpopular war was raging, and it rings just as true today.

Music:

Jack FM
Follow the link to my favorite radio station: you can listen to it from any where in the world! Name a band, name a song, I promise you, he plays it! If you happen to be in the KC area, turn you dial to 105.1 on the FM dial: JACK ROCKS!

Movies:

No 'blood, guts, & gore'. Everything else is ok. Favorite actress, Jodie Foster. Favorite actors, most of them! I will watch almost anything, let's just pop the video or dvd into the player and see what happens.

Television:

I'm a 4th generation Guiding Light Fan (71 yrs, longest running show in broadcast history!!) I watch LOST (big time LOST fan) CSI, Sarah Conner Chronicals, Cops, AMW, Greys, Desperate Housewives, House, Jericho, Power of 10, Antiques Roadshow, Hell's Kitchen, Big Brother, Smarter than a 5th grader (would go on the shows and win if I wasn't camera-shy) etc. Most sitcoms are asinine anymore, what with the stupid clueless adults and smartass kids, who wants to watch that all the time?
GO CHIEFS, GO BRIGADE! I love KC football of all kinds!

Books:

To be perfectly honest, I was the kid that read the cereal box, yep the whole thing. I collect books. Don't loan me a book, you won't get it back. My dream is to have a book in my collection that I wrote--then I could die happy. First favorite is the Bible... first the teachings of Jesus (the only thing I've found in 4? yrs that makes any sense), then the Prophesies. Fave writers: Stephen King, Robin Cook, Micheal Crichton, Agatha Christy, John Grisham, etc etc Just give me something that's not a romance novel and I'm good. Love to collect text books, the older the better. Pride of my collection (so far) is a spelling primer dating back to 1895 that is in EXCELLENT SHAPE. Also enjoy true crime stories, biographies, will read anything I can get my hands on... My idea of hell is the "Twilight Zone" Episode 'All the time in the world' where the guy is the last man on earth, has all those books and the time to read them, breaks his glasses and can't see to read them...

Heroes:

Lots of people I admire, and not enough room to put them all here. But the one I rely on when the times get tough is ME. Disney lied to me, told me in their stupid little cartoons that a handsome prince is gonna ride up on a white horse when I least expect it, and change my world with just a kiss, and live ***say it with me, ladies*** "Happily ever after" ROFLMAO... But that's not real. No one is going to ride in and sweep me off my feet, play 'My Hero' for me, so I learned to do it myself, for myself and my boys. I wear my own armor to battle, I swing my own sword and I ride my own horse. So I guess you can say I'm my own hero.
