Let's see ... I was 5 years old when I wrote my first song on the piano. Since then, I've been working, thinking, writing, breathing music, and to make a very long story, very short: it took 5 bands, aprox. 150 concerts trough out Scandinavia and a sudden move from Jutland to Copenhagen before BMG heard about me in 1994, and my first record-deal became a reality. In september 1995 my debut "This is how you fall in love" was released. The clean-cut pop/rock album was recorded in Werner Studios (Copenhagen, DK) and Feedback Recording (Viby J., DK), produced by Michael Bruun, Mads Michelsen & Per Chr. Frost, and mixed by Rafe Mckenna. The musicians were Per Lindvall, Lars Danielsson, Søren Runge, Jens Haack, Horny Horns, Kristian Fogh, IvanPedersen, Rebecca Leigh-White and Jordan Bailey. After this, a looong *Welcome to the real Life'*-tour followed, lasting from Valby Hallen in february 1996 till' Hanstholm Hallen in november 1996. Three weeks after finishing the tour, I flew to London to meet with Gary Langan (Art of Noise), who had been hired to produce my second album in Nomis Studios and Metropolis Studios (London, UK). However, we only did 4 tracks overthere before BMG found it a bit too expensive having pianist Jon Carin (Pink Floyd, The Who, Aretha Franklin), guitarist Jack Hughes (Wang Chong, Aretha Franklin) and vocal-sisters Shirley & Dee Lewis (Sting, George Michael, Elton John) on the paylist. Anyway, it was the best time of my recording life, and I've never learned SO much in just 5 weeks. After this I flew to Lemon Studios (Stockholm, Sweden) to work with Tommy Ekman og Jörgen Elofsson - fantastic guys, I must say - but we only recorded one track (!) up north before I returned to Copenhagen to finish the album among danish producers CMN, Multiman, Tue Röh & Soulpoets. After almost 18 months of recording with too many different producers 'Moving On' was finally put together by 12 out of 21 very different recorded tracks, and as a product ... I must admit it was a bit style-confusing and out of time. But it was released in may 1998 and rightfully, I got my head ripped off by the the critics, who were dissapointed after having somehow high expectations after the promising debut. It became 'a year of silence' for me with only very few concerts arund the country. After this strange ride, I decided to be a lot more critical about ... well, everything regarding my music, and so I decided to close down everything around me to focus on composing what two years later became my first selfwritten cd 'Happy Depression', released on EMI/cmc in april 2000 and followed up by good reviews and yet another long tour. It was like gettingback to life and living. After these ups and downs I needed a little change of scenery, and so I started to write. My first novel "Sunde tanker fra en syg sjæl" was released by danish major publishers Lindhardt & Ringhof A/S in september 2003, and was sold-out in two full stocks in just 3 months. A real landmark for me, and a amazing start to my authorship. Maybe drawned by the immediate succes, I became very fascinated by the writing-stuff, and quickly burried my self further, working on novel number two, "Stik farmor en plade", that saw daylight in september 2005. This book also went very well, though it didn't reach the same level as the first. (I seem to have a 'number two'-trauma...). During the work on my two first novels, the idea for number three took shape, and while number two was being printed, I started writing the thriller 'Adams Paradise', which will be released in 2007. Now, after 5-6 years of getting my authorship going, I'm back at writting music, and these days I'm finishing the songs for my new band "SHONE 77"s debut - working title "Bedlam". ''SHONE 77'' - is - to put it short - a Copenhagen-based pop/rock-band introducing me as singer/songwriter & the fantastic and charismatic Ditte Campion on co-vocals and some of the lyrics. Ditte has figured on a wide number of albums as vocalist, and has previously released one solo album, 'Bounce' (1999) MANrec. (visit her at www.myspace.com/dittecampion).
