Well, I don't know........Grew up in Copenhagen, Denmark. Only child - bored to death, hadn't it been for my 1000 cats (named mainly after Twin Peaks characters). My cats liked our backyard. So did I. We grew carrots and radishes, and went mousehunting even when it was raining.
My father and I sang a lot together. When you sing you don't argue. That's a good thing. Don't get me wrong - I love my mom and dad!......................
When I was 14 years old, I went to Copenhagen music school, Sankt Annæ - maybe the 3 best years of my life. The only school in town where the teachers are actually pleased when you start singing during class. And boy did we sing...I still know Händels 'Messiah' by heart (or at least the part of the soprano :)....................
At Sankt Annæ I met two fantastic guys, Frederik 'A Kid Hereafter' Thaae and Mikkel 'Prinz Valium' Gemzoe with whom I played music for several years - recently in the band, Perfect - a hyphy sort of cornucopia regarding punchy electronic sounds, symphonic harmonies and old fashion girl-crooning (which I'm sad to say, is no more - Perfect I mean). Frederik played the guitar, Mikkel played the drums, so I had to write to write the lyrics. Thank you - now I can bore everybody with my opinions about love, global warming, sex, alienation, incest, reality tv etc..........
With Perfect I did a lot of touring in DK. We didn't manage to get anything released, though we got a lot of airplay (Danish record labels are timid, shy and bashfull), but I still have a few demos left - if anyone's interested? :)............................Speaking of getting your shit on the street - another healthy musical experience of mine was making my first album with Danish producers, Thomas Blachman and Remee. It was called Bounce (MANrec). This one you can still buy in the stores - but think twice. It's scary and might make your organs bleed :). At least it's not at all where I see myself at now - musically I mean. But Thomas and Remee are pure geniuses! You taught me a lot - thank you. I love everything that can make me laugh or cry. And my hair didn't look all that bad - short and curly, right?.............................Speaking of touring...this is the historical moment where you get to find out, who stole the ambulance and drove into the ditch, in Randers year 2001. It was Per(!) from the big beat band, E.T.A. - yet under influence of the words of Danish guitarist, Lars Top Galia from the legendary Punkband, Sort Sol (did you know that they were once touring with Madonna as their supporting act??). Sorry Per, but the truth will always find its way - eventually :).
Well, I guess what I'm trying to say is, that touring with E.T.A. during their No Smoking (Flex Records) period was never boring!!
You should check that record out, by the way (also available in stores). My vocal are on most of the songs, and the track Casual Sub will always immediately pack a dancefloor.....
Ps. And if you're into big beat-music, You should also check out the track Motorbikes (Freakuency - BMG records) by danish band Puddu Varano. I'm contributing by singing the VERY DEMANDING part "go"! :).......................Meanwhile I've had my fun with occasionally performings with other Danish acts such as Mark Linn, Clemens, Pato, Johnny Deluxe......................................................
..................................Then was then and now is now.
Doing lots of different stuff recently. I'm in a project (working title 'Shone 77') together with danish singer/songwriter and author Michael Teschl. The style is more earthy and subtle than what I am use to. Trying to grow up a little...it's okay I guess..........I love the guy!.............................But if you wanna be a succesfull grown-up, you have to remember the child in you (in my case that child is a bit omnipresent), therefore I'm also working on my own projekt! A Gwen Stefani meets Marilyn (Monroe NOT Manson)'ish sort of thing. New school hiphop-tracks with indie-vocal...but it's gotta be hilarious and banging!!!.................................Speaking of children - food and fun are not for free, and that's why I also work as a VJ at the Danish television channel, The Voice TV. Music television that is. I'm in charge of interviewing other artists. Lots of fun!...........................................All in all - I will keep you posted...................Take care - and thank you for spending time on this rubbish :)............................Love Ditte!I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!
