Hans Rosenberg

When the groove really matters...

About Me

Hans Rosenberg picked up a pair of drum sticks for the very first time at the tender age of seven in his hometown Nuuk, the capitol of Greenland, where he grew up with influences from Greenlandic, European and American music. He started doing recording sessions at the age of sixteen and recorded his first major album at the age of nineteen. Rosenberg is a seasoned pro with world tour experience from huge festivals and concert halls to small venues and taverns, and anywhere in between. He has developed a style that is entirely his own and he holds a reputation as a top pro drummer with amazing skills in many types of music. Hans Rosenberg’s debut cd “Jammin’ In The Cockpit” was awarded seven out of ten stars in Modern Drummer ’s April 2000 issue. He has +30 years of live drumming experience and +20 years of studio drumming experience. Hans Rosenberg is the prototype of the modern drummer, and he’s got all the attributes that contemporary music calls for: A solid groove, blazing chops, a vast knowledge of different genres and the ability of playing them with confidence and bringing them to life. His performances are vibrant and visual and his track record as a session player is remarkable. Whether it’s a live concert, a studio session or a workshop situation, Hans is known for his professional attitude and his positive and enthusiastic approach. While the major part of his work has been as a sideman, he also have experience as band leader and musical director for a number of artists and bands. Hans Rosenberg is studio drummer on EMI release: Alter Me - The Fall. Hans is available as session and live drummer in the Danish metropolis of Copenhagen.

"Hans is a great Danish Eskimo who loves music and who's crazy about the drums. In other words: Hans is the Steve Gadd of Greenland."
- Grønlandsposten
"Hans Rosenbergs cd "Jammin' In The Cockpit" reminds us of the value of the 'minus one' play-along albums for drummers. Danish drummer Hans Rosenberg explores many styles on "Jammin' in the cockpit", including progressive rock, reggae shuffle, hip-hop, cascara, songo, funk, jazz, and fusion. It's good practice, even if you're not getting many calls to do the odd-time outside your garage."
- Modern Drummer
"Hans is one of the best f***ing drummers I've heard in a long, long time!"
- Rainy James

Ole Kristiansen tour 2004: "It was especially wonderfully surprising when Hans Rosenberg performed his solo-drum-show, leaving the audience with their jaws dropped - and the girls almost fainted... "
- Sermitsiaq
