Seeking to Please HIM... is not just a saying for this worship artist and songwriter, Colonya realizes that worship is truly a posture that she takes towards God.Colonya has been singing literally before she learned how to speak. Her love for music was apparent by her early desire to learn how to play the piano at the age of 3. She formally began to take lessons at 5 years old and began her early compositions at the age of 7. Colonya's love of music began to expand when she joined her local church and school choirs. This revealed her real talent... singing.As time passed, her talent grew but also her sincere desire to serve God blossomed. Colonya focused her singing primarily on Christian music which opened doors for her to minister with many of the greats such as Mattie Moss Clark and the Clark Sisters, John P. Kee, Donnie McClurkin Darlene Zschech, William Murphy, Tim Miner, and Ron Kenoly, to name a few...She has also served as worship leader/psalmist at several well-known ministries including Full Harvest International, Los Angeles CA. Make no mistake, Colonya's resume is not limited to ministering with the BIG names but she also sings and ministers to youth groups, schools, colleges and charity events."One of the turning points in my life was when I was asked to participate on the Azuza Street Centennial Celebration worship team in Los Angeles". Colonya worked with a host of pastors and artists during this event. "Working with so many internationally recognized people who sought no fame but endeavored to Lift Christ in a dying world was more than impressive... "This event served to change my focus to seeking His face and not His hand" Colonya says that she now understands the meaning of true worship. "Worship is not a style of music or a type of church service but it is directly related to the interaction of the worshiper and the one being worshipped. It's a posture WE ALL MUST TAKE!!!
