It’s the new fad, where can I sign up. It sounds great, courageous, exciting even. Let’s shout as loud as we can and dream about changing the world, being the “chosen generation.†What many people are rarely told but soon find out is that in the fine print there is a great price to pay, yet a few are willing to pay it. I was always told I had a great calling on my life, I would change the world, it sounded wonderful and for filling, but what many people failed to tell me was I would have to die. I would have to die to my self in order to fulfill a call that was greater then myself, greater then what this whole world could offer. We cannot go to war if we are not willing to die. Psalms 116: 15 (NKJ) “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.†The world tells us to desire popularity, fame, fortune but the bible tells us we I must die so that I can live. Warriors do not fear death, they go to battle with one goal…VICTORY. When Jesus hung on the cross, He was a warrior who when He drew His last breath said it is finished. What was finished? “Death is swallowed up in victory, O Death where is your sting, O Hades where is your victory?†(1Cor. 16: 54-55) Jesus fought death and won and has given us the same power to overcome. This generation is having the time of their lives, we have taken consequences away from a generation and have satisfied their selfish desires. We have polluted their minds with movies, music and the world looks with blind eyes. They are living in the moment; they are experiencing life, but suffering a spiritual death. Are you willing to pay the price? Willing to totally surrender to self and be conformed to His image. YES?! I find Jesus’ words in Matthew 10: 38-39 (NKJ) the first step in a warrior’s journey. “And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it.†If the warrior is unwilling to take this step he will be disqualified and unworthy. We as warrior must go against the flow, to be a devoted follower of our captain, to lay down our life at His command. I have found the road of a follower of Christ a lonely one in the midst of living a standard that is not of this world but of a higher Kingdom. Misunderstood, rejected, and lonely, I wonder is this what Jesus felt. Yet He is our greatest example of a follower of God. I believe the second step is to become joined with the Father. Jesus lived His life doing what His Father told him to do. He did nothing apart from God. We must embrace this principle and know that apart from God we can accomplish NOTHING! Jesus died to give us access to God once again. What Adam had in the garden was true fellowship with God, but once Adam and Eve sinned they became separated from Him. They no longer had access to the true fellowship they shared with Him in the Garden. Jesus came and died so we could once again have true unity, access and fellowship with the Father. The devil has deceived the world by the temporary lusts disguised as luxury, that we have rejected the very gift Christ has given us. How you might ask? I have asked myself that many times and the only answer I can give to you is to PURSUE HIM. James 4:8 (NKJ) “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.†If we are faithful to pursue God, He will Purse YOU. We cannot fight this battle without Him. As warriors we need to have BOLDNESS. We need to stop playing on the devils playground and see it is a battleground we need to wage war upon. There is a sound inside of the warrior that when released will shake this earth. It says in the bible creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. (Romans 8: 19) I believe once the true awaking of this generation comes it will cause a cry from the depth of the earth, a trumpet needs to sound in our generations. In Matthew 21:13 (NKJ) Jesus went into the temple of God and drove out all those who brought and sold in the temple. Holy anger stirred in Him as He said “ It is written My house shall be a house of prayer but you have turned it into a den of thieve.†Jesus had boldness and was not concerned with what the people thought of His action…He had zeal for His Fathers house and would not bear to see it defiled. It says after the blind and the lame came to Him and He healed them. Our zeal that is not of this world but of a different Spirit will draw the broken to us and God will cause us to walk in signs and wonders. As warriors we need to have the same zeal for God. It needs to consume us! Looking at our school systems, the malls, even just walking down the street I see a lost and dying world and inside I feel the roar of the lion of the tribe of Judah, roaring over this generation, WE ARE HIS! He is seeking after those who will die, be conformed and wage war!If you are a college student and would like more information about this Israel trip please call 1.800.519.4647 or
