De Aapvaders (The Apefathers) is een collaboration between Jelmer Oosthoek (Singing, Trumpet) and Gerrit-Jan Sonke (Guitar, MIDI). The music of De Aapvaders originated during musical sessions in ’03, ’05, ’07 and as recently as January 2008. It can be described as experimental humour music (except Klapstoel which is a nu-jazz attempt, although the title can be regarded as humorous), making use of different styles. The goal is to have covered all music styles around on this little blueish greenish sphere thing we call Earth...
Our main music site is De Aapvaders.nl which is in the air since March 2008. We recently also made some video sketches and put them on YouTube.
