Few performers can successfully blend the old with the new and combine the energy of rock and blues with the traditions of country music, all while incorporating the attitudes of modern Nashville. Jenny Goforth is one of the chosen few.
Billy Block, producer and host of the internationally- broadcast Billy Block Show, calls Jenny Goforth “one of the most dynamic and compelling young performers in Nashville.†But her fans aren’t just located in Music City. From as far away as Reno, NV, Tim Lynah of KUUB-FM Cub Country 94.5 says, “Jenny’s music is truly putting the soul back into country! Oh yeah...she plays a mean harp too!"
Hailing from Kings Mountain, NC, Jenny is a show- stopping performer, who like Martina McBride or Pat Benatar, packs a punch that is deceptive for her size. Whether it’s a heart-wrenching ballad or an uptempo romp, Jenny leaves the crowd wanting more. And just when the audience is reeling from her vocal performance, she pulls out her harmonica and brings down the house. Legendary harp player Jelly Roll Johnson says, “Jenny Goforth has a great soulful voice and a natural talent for playing the harmonica. Everyone needs to hear her!â€
With a music degree from prestigious Belmont University, Jenny is making a name for herself with her original material as well as her stage performances. Appearances at Nashville venues, such as 12th and Porter, the Basement and Dan McGuinness Pub, as well as the Clarksville Riverfest and Charlotte Motor Speedway’s NASCAR Coca-Cola 600, have made her a favorite in Music City and throughout the Southeast.
More and more disk jockeys nationwide will soon be using her name in the same breath as the music legends who inspired her as a child back in North Carolina, such as Wynonna, Keith Urban, Bonnie Raitt and Travis Tritt. With undeniable talent and charisma to spare, Jenny Goforth is an up-and-coming star on the modern Nashville music scene.
