I AM... STL's OWN **DJ SMITTY**

Inspired by watching the likes of Grandmaster Flash, Jam Master Jay, Kid Capri, DJ Jazzy Jeff and GQ (from the movie Juice), *DJ SMITTY* got his first taste of the turntables at Saints Roller Rink in his home town of ST. Louis. When he saw the resident deejay scratching he asked if he could give it a shot. It wasn't long after that *DJ SMITTY* met local big-name DJ CHARLIE CHAN and was taken under his wing. When *DJ SMITTY* first began, CHARLIE CHAN had him practicing nearly 12 hours a day during the summers in between his high school years. He also let *SMITTY* borrow his turntables for gigs before he was able to buy his own.This time-pressed deejay couldn't be making too many mistakes; his name is starting to get thrown around in some pretty public circles. *SMITTY* was mentioned in Vibe magazine. *DJ SMTTY* seems to be pushing his way up among St. Louis deejays.
