I've always wanted to be in the entertainment business but never knew how to make it happen nor did I have the confidence. I was about 28yrs old working @ the SBC Call Center in Olivette. (R.I.P PAUL TOLDEN aka PT)
My friends and I lived in the clubs, We had really good relationships with the radio stations, promoters, & Dj's so we were sometimes out 7 days a week, shit sometimes 2 or 3 events a night.
I knew it had gotten bad when they would ask us how another event was.
Then I met 2 people who changed my life... "MIC FOX" Program Director @ a local radio station called Q95.5. I asked him how to get started & he said "BE AT THE RIGHT PLACE @ THE RIGHT TIME". So I took a leave of absence from SBC & began to intern @ The station. Everytime he turned around I was there rather it was gettin food, runnin earrands, answering the phones whatever he or his staff needed I was there to do it. After 6 months he hired me as Promotions Coordinator/Assistant to "BLU BOLDEN" who was the Promotions Director.
Blu literally changed me, my hair, the way I dressed, the way I carried myself, she helped me get my female game up, and taught me everything I know about the business shit I'm still learning from her.
With very very hard work (and no pay) I went from assistant, to Programming/Promotions Assistant, to Promotions Director & Marketing Manager. I worked for Chingy & Slot A Lot Records for 3 years as The National Marketing & Promotions Director and now I'm @ Derrty Ent "We All We Got!" and I still manage to raise the most beautiful twin daughters Hailey & Emiley.I just want to say I LOVE THE LORD!! And I LOVE MY LIFE!!!Remember...
Good-will produces a great aura of protection about the one who sends it, and No weapon that is formed against them shall prosper. In other words, love and good will destroy the enemies within one's self; therefore... one has no enemies on the external!!
