Irish immigrants have formed an important part of the London population from at least the early seventeenth century, becoming particularly associated with seasonal labour, street selling, and the areas around St Giles in the Fields. Among the poor, Irish men and women formed a particularly large percentage.
Many artists, poets, writers and political thinkers headed over the Irish Sea over the years to live in London, which is a continued fashion to this present day. The days of No DOGS, NO BLACKS and NO IRISH are certainly gone. Some of the most famous British Musicians, Actors and Sportsmen are of Irish Ancestry.
My intention with IRISH IN LONDON is to promote young Irish Professionals, Musicians, Actors or just really cool Irish people who emigrated to London in order to follow their Dreams and Aspirations.
