Tom began singing and playing his songs on the folk circuit around Dublin. After that he became a rambling Irishman, moving across Europe, playing anywhere they'd listen.
The 12 original songs on Tom's latest CD "Dark River Tumbling" came about after Tom was invited to read his poetry at The Chamber Of Commerce Dublin, the themes from this poetry reading he interweaved into the lyrics on "Dark River Tumbling". Teaming up with award winning musicians: Philip Masure (guitars) BBC Musician's award. Aidan Burke (Fiddle) 20 first places all Ireland/Britain, plus a bevy of equally talented people he recorded the album in four infamous months.
"BBC Folk Roots": "Tom Acton writes songs as if they've been around for hundreds of years, really good songwriting" Johnny Coppin, BBC
Country Gazette: "Dark River Tumbling" Songs from a true wandering troubadour underlined by a longing for Ireland, resulting in a beautiful Album.
International New Folk Sounds: "Fine imaginative songwriting as you'd expect from a published poet"
