Writing screenplays is GREAT FUN! Oh, I get lost in a script! But I HATE actually making movies! Check out my GRAVE MISTAKE photo album! They made me dig my own grave!

THE DEAD. POE, natch. WAREN ZEVON, Ow-ooooh! Any dead friends of Poe's are friends of mine. It's a dead man's party. Who could ask for more? I am very Grateful to the Dead.
I'm obsessed with Warren Zevon, the finest composer and lyricist of our time. Patti Smith Janis Joplin and Melanie are my female musical idols. Richie Furay, Poco, Souther Hillman, Furay Band; Ben Harper is very soothing; Gerard Way and My Chemical Romance are Poesque, and I like their work. My first car was called, Neil, for Neil Young. I adore CSNY; Meatloaf; The Band; Danny Elfman and Oingo Boingo. HENDRIX. Van the Man. The Poetess Joni Mitchell. Leonard Cohen; Anisette Marmosette. Meatloaf. Loreena McKennit; and the Proclaimers..."And I would walk 500 miles, and I would walk 5,000 more..." Now, that's MY idea of devotion!Poe is very jealous of my deep affections for Warren Zevon. MY fantasy is they're both fighting over me on the other side. I wonder who will win??I'm a sucker for great musicals, too. Carousel brings me to tears, especially Soliliquy.
I saw the Julie Andrews (the IDOL of Cynthia, Jr.) with Rex Harrison on Broadway in "My Fair Lady," and saw Anna Maria Albirgheti and Jerry Orbach in Carnival. Lucky me!
I love all Rogers and Hammerstein scores; and all Rodgers and Hart scores, too.a href="http://artyprofiles.com/"

I will not watch a film made after 1840. I mean...1940.

Of course, Les Bros. Marx. I live in the world of black movies, and thank the Goddess for Robert Osbourne, and American Movie Classic; and the Killian Collection for the great restoration of lost classic films.

Sid Caeser is a great Hero of mine, and--he was born in Yonkers, New York. Like Me. And Yonkers used to be part of the Fordham area of what is now the Bronx. And Fordham is where Poe Cottage stands--and I live in, in my heart. And, my father's name is SID C. Which, by at least 14 degrees of separation --links Poe and Me to both my Dad, Sid C., and, the great Sid Caesar. If YOU can follow this--well, you're more twisted than I am..cuz its a joke. Okay, its not. I do believe in the great synastry, and symmetry, of life and death. And the seasons..they go round and round....
b162aca3a4ea5486c35d083945a13bb2.gif Scholarly books about Edgar A. Poe. Fictional books about Edgar A. Poe Poetry about Edgar A. Poe Books about the Mysteries of the Tarot and Astrology and Magick...WHITE MAGICK. EVERYTHING by POE--most people think of Poe ONLY as a HORROR WRITER. This is wrong! Poe was HILARIOUS! Sometimes morbidly hilarious; sometimes viciously hilarious, yes--but very, very funny; ironic. Don't forget he created the genre of the DETECTIVE STORY. He was a great SAGE, PROPHET, and PHILOSPHER; MESMERIST--check out EUREKA!! He was the Simon Cowell of his day with books--the nastiest smarmiest and most picky literary critic in the world! His book reviews are priceless! Nothing is funnier than to watch Poe trash somebody else's work, especially his best friends! I think its funny because it was all an ACT; which gained him lots of notoriety, and the nickname of "The Tomahawk Man" of literary criticism. He'd damn an entire book if someone dared to use a semi-colon improperly. He is a HOOT!Dickens; James Russell Lowell; George Lippard; Hawthorne; Melville; Swinburne; Walter Pater; adore Walt Whitman. Henry James. Okay...and all great literature
POE. Lombard. Gable. Zevon. Patti Smith; Rock n' Roll Nigger Extraordaire; Felix O. C. Darley; the Father of American Illustrations; Walt Whitman, and his Leaves of Grass. All the Rossettis--who honored Poe as a GOD. They were right. I honor, and sympathize with, Poe's long list of lovers and friends. I despise Poe's enemies, and seek justice for the name of POE.
