It was in 1997, when the name "Supraton" appeared for the first time within the dance scene. At that time Aga Heller opened his own club in Stuttgart (Germany) under this name. DJs like Steve Bug or Chris Liebing played over there. After a while he became a member of the management of M1_The Club, one of the most respected clubs in Germany at that time already. Some time before he also started an event and booking agency called "Mediaking", which took care of artists like Mark Spoon, DJ Dag or Thomas Schumacher. And Aga Heller continued on doing bookings at his new position at M1. The agency "Supraton" was born and exclusive artists, like Felix da Housecat, Deep Dish, Roger Sanchez or Armand van Helden were represented by Aga Heller and his team - and Supraton became one of the most important agencies in Germany. Some years later Aga Heller decided to move on and to work for a major record company. He sold his agency, which continued as “M1_Bookings” for a long time and in the meantime it became the agency “Fake Artists”.
The name Supraton went with Aga Heller. But it took nearly five years, until he left the major record industry and started his agency Supraton again. Since that time Supraton is a full service agency, not only a usual booking agency, but rather a close partner for artists in the music biz, in who they can trust in. Supraton looks after all needs of its artists – sometimes Supraton acts as their secretaries, sometimes even as their babysitters and Supraton is always their best friend. That means, the team of Supraton handles all of their releases and remixes, all licensing stuff and takes care of their marketing, pr and promotion. Supraton looks after their accounting and merchandising, but also manages all of their bookings, of course. Overall Supraton is responsible for everything, the artists want Supraton to do! ;-)
Artist management is definitely the biggest part of the work of Supraton, but there are still some more scopes of duties. Supraton is responsible for “Trance Nation” events worldwide, for example. Trance Nation is a famous mix album series with regular releases in U.S.A., Canada, Benelux, Germany, Poland and most countries of the former USSR. The events present the artists of this cd series worldwide.
Furthermore Supraton is engaged by different consumer goods companies and helps them to place their brands in the club culture. Supraton is involved into their marketing activities and public relations work, as well as into the organisation of their events. One of our clients is Bacardi, for example. Supraton is involved into Bacardi's "Ritmo" and "B-Live" events and also into the "B-Live" CD series released by Ministry of Sound Recordings Germany.
