Rafael Ximenez born in Madrid and Mikio from Tokyo are the DJ Team PLASTIK FUNK. Together the two DJs, who are now living in Duesseldorf, form an important part of worldwide nightlife. Gigs in San Francisco, Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, Hawaii, Zurich, Paris, Ibiza, Mallorca, Lisbon, Rome, Florence, Barcelona, Prague, Warszaw, Vienna, Bucarest, Kiev, Moscow or Tokyo are some of the places which they have already enchanted with their sound.
Playing the „Privilege Opening“ (2005) and the „Privilege World Tour“ for the biggest club on this planet, the legendary „Space Closing“ at Space Ibiza (2006) as well as festival appearances on the first german „Sensation White“, the „B-Live“ mega-events in Sylt and Cologne (both more than 5.000 visitors), the „Ruhr in Love“, the „Loveparade“ in Berlin or the „Love2Dance“ festival in Lisbon (Portugal 2006), made their name towed in the minds of electronic music lovers all over the world.
During the summer of 2006 Rafael and Mikio were hosting their own night at world’s biggest club Privilege again. This year, every Tuesday along with John Acquaviva’s “Acquaholic” on the main floor, while PlastikFunkTastik took place on the house floor.
Come by and enjoy Plastik Funk and their international guests all night long. (from 13th June till 5th September). The guys were also playing several gigs for the legendary afterhour session “In Bed With Space” on Wednesday mornings and their appearance at the world famous SPACE closing party on the 1st of October and a secret Bacardi pre-party featuring Pete Tong, Andy Cato from Groove Armada and the lovely Roisin Murphy of Moloko performing live.
For the summer 2006 Plastik Funk released a coverversion of C&C Musicfactory’s „Gonna make you sweat“ which entered many important dance charts (Germany Top10) and recieved massive support from the biggest names in DJ business. The track has now been licensed to several countries, such as U.K., Poland, Japan or Canada, too.
The typical Plastik Funk sound (a mixture between classic house and electro) has found many admirers and as a result, many artists wanted the duo to remix their tracks. Here are some of the latest records reedited by Plastik Funk:

Mikio and Rafael spent the whole summer season of ’05 with flying back and forth to Ibiza, playing their own night at Privilege housefloor Wednesdays through out the summer. They have invited lots of friends and guests to play with them and had several guest appearances at ‘In Bed With Space’, too.
In 2006, their own night PLASTIKFUNKTASTIK has been settled every Tuesday on the Cocoloco floor at PRIVILEGE, along with John Acquaviva’s ACQUAHOLIC on the main floor. Check them out with all their friends from all over the world. Plastik Funk was also playing some dates for IN BED WITH SPACE on Wednesday mornings at SPACE and the pre-parties at BORA BORA.
2007 will see a promising cooperation between IN BED WITH SPACE and PLASTIKFUNKTASTIK at SPACE. Along with the residents, Plastik Funk will be tearing down the terrasse of the famous club with vocal host Barbara Tucker and many illustrious guests. For a minimum of 6 dates, you can see the boys spin on the Wednesday morning sessions and you should not miss them!
