Fallen Into Ruin

What Is The Purpose Of Nothing Without Something?!

About Me

Fallen Into Ruin was founded around april of 2005 by Maurice on bass, Paul on drums and Robert on guitar, who had met through the means of an advertisement on a website for musicians. All three of them had known previous band and stage experience, in which they came from various musical backgrounds such as rock/metal, deathmetal and melodic heavy metal. However some differences in their musical (band) backgrounds, they did share their appreciation for melody, melancholy, atmosphere and some of the bands they supported. As they decided to give it a go, the three of them entered a rehearsal studio in april of 2005 and so eventually Fallen Into Ruin came into existence.

From hereon they searched for like-minded people, both on a musical as a personal level, to complete the very first line-up of Fallen Into Ruin. After multiple auditions for both a second guitarist and a singer, they finally found Marco as their second guitarist in march of 2006. Similar to Maurice, Paul and Robert, Marco had also known previous band and stage experience, and with that, adding some progressive twist to the music of Fallen Into Ruin. After an extensive search that lasted for nearly another year, they finally found Danielle as their singer in may of 2007 to complete the line-up of Fallen Into Ruin.

The name Fallen Into Ruin is a metaphor for transitoriness and can be interpretated as seen fit by the eye of the beholder.

In its present form, the music - or style for that matter - of Fallen Into Ruin is best described as melodic, melancholic and atmospheric metal with a somewhat doomy, rock and progressive twist. The band is inspired and/or influenced by bands such as Katatonia, Anathema, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, My Dying Bride, The Gathering and The Provenance at which three keywords gather what Fallen Into Ruin stands for: Melody, melancholy and atmosphere.
