California Writers Collective

I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

In 2005, six authors banded together to create a literary network from Northern and Southern California, after much debate over a name, The California Writers Collective (CWC) was born.Since then, the CWC has been quite active in conducting free writers workshops, meeting up with fellow authors around the country, and continuing to encourage and support one another's endeavors. In 2006 alone, the CWC has grown in both number and recognition as a viable network and we feel the best is yet to come for the Collective. We were the proud hosts of the 2007 Los Angeles Black Book Expo and we continue to be a light for all new authors who need a helping hand. The best is yet to come!

My Interests

We enjoy networking with other authors; new, established, etc. You don't have to be in California to connect with us. We welcome those artists who have a passion with the pen.

I'd like to meet:

It is our hope to encourage and inspire as many aspiring and beginning writers as possible! Due to the success of our last writers workshop in Los Angeles, we helped two new authors realize their dream and it is our hope many other potential authors we come across will also experience the joy of seeing their hard work in print. At the present time, due to our work in the Los Angeles Black Book Expo, we are open to expanding in so many areas from membership to venues to hold more book expos across the state. We are always looking to network with other aspiring, new and veteran writers in the literary world. If you're a new author and you're interested in what we do and would like more information, please contact us here or at http://californiawriterscollective.com. We encourage book clubs, readers, etc to stay connected with the Collective as well.

Music:

since there are so many of us, our tastes may not be the same but we enjoy good music nevertheless.

Movies:

We enjoy movies of any type.

Television:

There are a few of us who enjoy a diverse range of programming, whether it's reality shows, documentaries, or award-winning cop shows on cable.

Books:

Besides our own? Come on now! LOL We enjoy good stories with a powerful message or entertainment value.

Heroes:

The authors who came before us; we're just doing our part to contribute to the literary society and to make our group known to others who seek help in our field.
