Rocket Queen - ep available!

About Me

Rocket Queen first came to be when a bunch of Melbourne girls, with a love of all things rock n’ roll, decided that if boys could play, they could too. So the two eldest Freeland sisters, Clea and Ailie, formed a band with old school friend Anna...but it was only when the youngest Freeland sister, Fleur, picked up the bass that the band really took shape and Rocket Queen was born. With diverse musical influences, Rocket Queen exuberate a unique blend of sounds that’s a little bit country & blues, a touch of pop and a whole lotta rock & roll. The meaty rhythm section is born from Ailie’s solid, funk-style drum beats and Fleur’s chunky, rhythmic bass. Bring to the mix Anna Quayle’s soul born guitar licks that wail and soar in turn, along with Clea’s powerful vocal presence and inspired melodies, and you’ve got yourself a very potent brew.Over the last year, Rocket Queen has been seen rocking such venues as Ding Dong, The Evelyn, The Espy, Revolver and The Nash in Geelong. Playing supports with well known Melbourne artists such as, Dallas Crane, 67 Special and Sin City, performing live collaborations with Nic Cester (Jet) and Dave Larkin (Dallas Crane), these ladies live performance is described by their growing number of fans as raunchy, charismatic and a true ‘rock show’. Rocket Queen are a vital shot straight into the heart of a musical landscape that is in much need of a heady rush of excitement - providing sexy, authentic rock n’ roll to a starving population. And with their debut EP and single “Just the Way You like It” about to hit the airwaves, Rocket Queen are set to blast off!
