About Me

Emma is one of the three founding members of Quintessence and has been the lead vocalist since the beginning in 1999. She is part of the Q-collective that writes and produces the music of Quintessence and The Q-Continuum. She has also performed as a featured artist on the records of Don Johnson Big Band, Giant Robot, Husky Rescue, Paleface etc. She has performed with outstanding jazzmusicians such as Jukka Perko and Severi Pyysalo. Her band Emma Salokoski Ensemble just released an album called Kaksi mannerta (Two Continents) with influences from brazilian music and finnish songs. The band, formerly called Emma Salokoski Trio released an EP in 2003, that reached the top-20 on the Finnish singles charts and stayed there for the duration of two months. In 2004 Emma made her film debut in the Finnish film Keisarikunta, acting and singing in the role of Liisa. She has also been part of the Don Johnson Big Band family since 2001, touring and recording with the guys in their succesful project with the platinum-selling album Breaking Daylight.
