My name is Julian Nedkov. Actually, it might sound funny, but my father wanted to give me the name Elvis, which was impossible during the communistic time. I was born on June 29, 1972, in Sofia, Bulgaria. I had a happy childhood. Of course, I don’t remember so much of it, but I remember one day, when my father came to me and gave me a cassette tape of Elvis for present. I was close to 6 Years old and I was very touched by the music I heard. I remember my father saying to me: “That’s the sound of rock & roll!â€
This music became my world for years – a world in which I wasn’t bothered by anything. When I became a teenager, I began to listen to Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, AC/DC. I liked the drums a lot as an instrument and I was very impressed by John Bonham, the drummer of Led Zeppelin. Than I decided to become a drummer and I bought my first drums sticks.
Two years after, I took the drums of my school at home to practice and I forgot about my school obligations J. I found my first band - Baby Face (Clan) together whit my classmate – the guitar player. Like the most rock bands, there was lots of alcohol, crazy stuff, travelling, recordings, but deep in my soul I was feeling empty. After a big exhausting concert, I went on vacation on the sea. Of course, I don’t remember very much of it, because I was very drunk most of the time. One day, while I was on this vacation, I met a girl, who showed me a bible and told me about Jesus Christ. I was very challenged, because before that the only image I had about God was Richie Blackmore – the god of guitar. Step by step I realised that it’s possible that there might be God for real and that my life is mess. I began to read the Bible and for first time in my life I realised that only God can fulfil the emptiness in my life. I began to pray and ask Him for forgiveness by myself. After that, I started going to church and I felt satisfied. Than I decided to dedicate my life to Jesus and to play music for Him.
Today I have over a hundred songs recorded with all kinds of bands and worship teams and many concerts all around the world. I experienced all kind of cultures, all kind of emotionality, social differences (poor and rich people), but I can say that Jesus Christ is the Way the Truth, and the Life. I believe!
