About Me

African-American Sisters in Spirit (ASiS) Book Club is an organization that read books written by African American authors. Founded in February 2004, the ASiS Book Club has become a forum which fosters sisterhood among African American women residing or working in the Washington DC/Northern Virginia area, that posses a passion for literature, enjoy multi-cultural events, and can appreciate the beauty of sisterhood. Our members believe reading books provide the tools necessary for self enrichment, and a connection with the world. Meetings are held once per month, and the discussions are exciting, lively, hot, fun, and inspires us to read on!

The African-American Sisters in Spirit (ASiS) Book Club consists of women are multi-dimensional, they are mothers, sisters, wives, girlfriends, and some are working professionals in the areas of education, human resources, engineering, administration, to name a few. However, the common link is that each of our members are advent readers and enjoys meeting once a month to talk about a good book!
