Welcome to My Space.
Thanks for stopping by! I'm a nationally published Christian fiction author who writes novels with characters that are like me and people I know - trying to live fully and faithfully and trusting God to lead the way. We get it wrong just as often as we get it right; but God never fails to extend His grace and remind us that as long as we trust Him, He won't forsake us. You'll recognize yourself, your relatives or your friends in my characters and find yourself nudging them to just 'give it up and turn it loose'...to the Master!
I also speak professionally in corporate, civic, college and faith-based settings, where I am passionate about helping people realize their potential and purpose, and arming them with tools they can use to achieve their dreams. I know first-hand how hard it can be to leave one's comfort zone. After a decade-plus career as a newspaper reporter and occasional TV personality, I took the leap of faith to write books and speak full-time. By now you're probably asking, 'What is a watercolored pearl?' For starters, it's the title of my newly-released third novel, which features three friends struggling with the curveballs life has thrown them while trying to find some beauty in it all. Yet it also describes you and me, wherever we are on our journeys. If we'll persevere and remind ourselves that how we finish is more important than where we started, or have temporarily landed, we'll find ourselves becoming the pearls we're destined to be.

FIRST NOVEL EXCERPT: Speak To My Heart
Women and rain don’t mix. It’s a hair thing, and when the first drops fall, we’re often dashing for cover, frantic to protect our ’do.
But three winters ago, as I stood on the banks of the Canal Walk...with the rain pelting my face and the biting wind piercing my leather coat, I didn’t care. I understood for the first time what led some people to kill themselves.

My Interests??
I love spending time with my family and friends, reading, watching good movies, dabbling at tennis and consuming just about anything chocolate.

Writing, of course, is near the top of the list. I enjoy creating fictional characters but also writing columns.

My other passion? Children, whom I love and serve in my immediate family and church, and through literacy and child advocacy organizations that are close to my heart.
