The Robin Hoare Band

The revolution will be audible!

About Me

"Sheffield's favourite bluesman" according to acclaimed British bluesman King Rollo. The band play "Outstanding contemporary blues" - Neil Ramsden. "So damn cool!!" - Paul Ewing. Robin has been making great progress over the past couple of years. The highlights so far include barnstorming performances at the National Blues Festival and Great British R&B Festival in front of rapt audiences. The Robin Hoare Band are recording a new album with a summer release expected. The all original album can truly be described as contemporary blues with funk, jazz and rock moulded into a distinctive mix. Robin has been performing since his mid teens and has shared stages with Sean Webster, King Rollo, Hugh Mesekela, Paul Ewing, Frank White, Peter Fairclough, Andy McErlaine and Tam White. He's been a full time musician since the mid 90s. The Robin Hoare Band has been gigging since 2002. The set is uptempo with a bit of mellow stuff for chilling out. If you can dance to it they're getting something right! The band play a mix of their own songs and a few carefully chosen covers. They try to be creative with any song they play and there's improvisation in every show. No two gigs are the same. The band are a three piece featuring Robin on guitar and vocals, Danny Fox (Eloise Short Quartet)on bass and Joe Freegard (Fury of the Headteachers) on drums with guest appearances from Dale Storr (Alan Nimmo Band, Eugene Hideaway Bridges) on keyboards and Dave Raeburn (Sean Webster, Nimmo Brothers) on drums. The Robin Hoare Band perform around the country and are actively pursuing festival and club bookings around the UK. We'd love to hear from you if you want to post comments or ask anything about the band. Special thanks to Jonathan Draper and Matt Howden for the strings on "Like a Game" and to Carl Rose for the excellent pics from the Philadelphia Blues Fest. 2007.A QUICK NOTE FOR ANYONE SENDING FRIENDS REQUESTS; RECENTLY WE'VE HAD A LOT MORE REQUESTS COMING THOROUGH. THIS MEANS THAT WE CAN'T GUARANTEE THAT WE'LL BE ABLE TO SEND OUT A THANK YOU NOTE FOR EVERY ONE. HOWEVER, WE DO WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU. IF YOU DROP US A COMMENT OR A MAIL WE WILL GET BACK TO YOU.
