Some days are darker than others & some feelings are harder to explain & we are constantly looking for music to save our souls & sooth our minds & when we have to we write it ourselves & it is a long struggle on the road to perfection & I really don't feel like writing a band bio & music is not about fun it is about everything & we take it very seriously & we are a studio project & we will become a spectacular live band again when everybody is healthy again & that silver lining will appear & make the dark clouds jewels in the sky like music like tears like love like angels like dust like water flowing & thunder roaring & forget about all this and listen to the music & turn it up & close your eyes & remember that sound is more powerful than vision! real editor best profile tools real editor best profile tools

Influences: The band members of Astromancer like Roxy Music Leonard Cohen Pink Floyd Steely Dan T-Rex The Cure David Bowie Simon & Garfunkel Sisters of Mercy Bob Dylan Neil Young Johnny Cash Led Zeppelin Mercury Rev Black Sabbath Jimi Hendrix Robert Johnson AC/DC Grandaddy Nick Cave Mogwai Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel JJ Cale The Band Procul Harum Frank Zappa & a lot of other good stuff although not everyone agrees on the Simon & Garfunkel, well actually, we only agree on a few things. Bart Miller is musically mainly influenced by The Cure, Eric Satie, Beethoven and Echo & The Bunnymen, but actually doesn't know what influences his songwriting, except love, perhaps?

Bass player Kris is without any doubt influenced by the almost ridiculous amount of classic rock & hard rock albums he posesses. Tim listens to all things blues and "post rock". Drummer Alain likes David Bowie, Roxy Music, Mercuy Rev and Pink Floyd a lot, but if he's actually influenced by anything at all except for the weirdness of his own mind, is a question of debate in the band.

Apart from that, the songs & the lyrics are of course somewhat influenced by whatever happens in my life & in the lives of the people around me mostly to do with love and sex and death and friendship ! (Bart Miller)
Sounds Like: We've been compared with Tindersticks,16HP, Woven Hand, The Church, Nick Cave, Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen and others, most probably because of the sound of the vocals & the melancholy & the vibe of the lyrics. We don't agree. We sound like ourselves, really, don't you agree?

Keep that feedback coming! Since the internet generation decided that music is free, ego boosting is all we get!
