About Me

“Songwriting is the key. It holds everything together in such a way that powerful sentiments can be communicated. Music is the vessel. It provides the means to get the message through.”“I wanted to do an album of music that really spoke to me. I wanted to step into the places where my mortality and aging could be explored. I think I’ve managed to do this with Deep Water. By using traditional forms, like spirituals, bluegrass gospel, old time melodies, I’ve written about what matters to me today. Working with award winning producer, Andrew Smith is always a joy. And to be able to tap into the vast resources in the musical community here in the Valley is a gift.”Deep Water was released September 2006. This is Eamon’s third CD. Critics are raving about Deep Water. "...well-crafted songs, poignant and timely messages and charming instrumentation make for a beautiful and heart-warming listen";"Eamon has created a folk-roots masterpiece"; "Jane Eamon is an heroic figure on the local and growing Canadian scene" - just a sample of some of the press it has received.Eamon is no stranger to songwriting accolades. She has received honourable mention from the Billboard Song Contest, two honour awards from the Great American Songwriting Contest and Unisong International. Recently, Eamon won four Okanagan Music Awards – folk artist twice, female performer and songwriter of the year. She was chosen as a Canadian finalist in the Mountainstage New Song Contest. She has shared the stage with such greats as Roy Forbes, Stephen Fearing, Bill Henderson, opened for Maria Dunn, Terry Morrison, and participated in Bluebird North, Canada’s show and tell for songwriters. She’s been featured on NPR’s Open Mic show, Whole Wheat Radio and several folk radio programs throughout the US and played the prestigious Salmon Arm Roots and Blues Festival.
