Singer/Songwriter/Wine Diva!!! "Been singing all my life but didn't get serious until about 17 years old. Caught the music fever and haven't looked back since!"At 25 this singer/songwriter has amassed a variety of accomplishments in a short period of time. In 2003 Katie Fletcher graduated from the prestigious Humber College in Toronto, Ontario with a diploma in music. While studying arranging, composition and performance she mastered many genres such as jazz, pop and r&b, under the guidance of some of Torontos most prominent musicians. Shannon Gunn, Dave Stillwell, Mark Promane and Trish Colter all influenced her direction.During her time in Toronto, Katie Fletcher appeared with many local bands such as, LadyKane, Soular, and Robbie Lane and the Disciples. Solo gigs included Copia Bar and Grill, Q Bar and opening for Ottawas Phat Bastard. Not only was she used vocally for her solo work but also for her talents as a back-up singer for S4 Entertainments Noni Lindsay and Juno nominated Dione Taylor.As well as being busy with school and live gigs, she was also working with producer and engineer Mark Trutnau of GermanSound Studios. Katie Fletcher recorded a dance track called, You Know Theres Something About You which had airplay on college/university radio stations within Ontario including Ryerson University.Now back in Kelowna Katie Fletcher is recording her first EP featuring tunes written, sung and co-produced by herself. Shes called upon Scorpion Award Winning recording engineer Vytas Sinkevicius at Tree Fort Studios. Playing percussion is, Jamie Mann Memorial Award Winner for Musician of the Year, Scott Gamble. Also providing musical expertise are Scorpion Award Winning pianist, Neville Bowman and bassist, Cameron Ward.Local gigs include the Laughing Moon Restaurant, Summerhill Pyramid Winery, Minstrel Café, Parks Alive and Mardi Gras. Katie Fletcher has also lent her talents as a background singer for local jazz diva Ellen Churchill and folk singer Jane Eamon. Fletcher played Sally Brown in Theatre Kelownas 2004 production of Youre a Good Man Charlie Brown, Sadie Hall inTheatre Kelownas Fall 2005 production of Sentimental Journey and the Sour Kangaroo in Theatre Kelowna/Sunshine Theatres 2005 production of Seussical the Musical .What drives her to continue to make music?
