Chris met Rai who was a young composer at first in 2001, and started her career of song writing and singing. At the first time, they were making electronica tunes with synthesizers and joined some events held at the clubs. However, one day they made one song called“ANY GIVEN THINGS” which became the title work of this band with acoustic guitar, their sounds changed more towards acoustic basically. It was really a given thing.
In 2003, a guitarist, Omura Yu joined them. They named their band “Chris with the Band”, and began performing folk rock music in several cafes and live houses in Tokyo. At that time a song “LET ME BE THERE” was born, the blues had come to their senses.
For Chris with the Band, making their songs is the way to think about human beings, this world and life directly. It is based on refining thought, feeling and meditation in their ordinary life. Chris writes lyrics by her experience and her feelings which has close relationships with her surroundings and social events.
Just one vocal and two acoustic guitars, it looks like the microcosm of music. However, it is simplicity that involves an infinite possibility.
