Konnichiwa & Ni Hao! I'm a writer & English teacher from Atlanta, Georgia living in the Motomachi/Chuukagai (China Town) area of Yokohama. I write for magazines and also write textbooks for Nan'undo Press and Asahi Press. I do English proofreading for Cycleman Press. I've taught at a wide variety of schools in my tour across Japan, including schools in Sendai (Tohoku Foreign Language College), Tokyo (NIC International College), Shizuoka (IIST), Gunna (ALS), and Fukushima (Fukushima Gakuho High School). I also taught at ELS Language Centers in Atlanta, GA and St. Petersburg, FL (@ Eckerd College). I used to play bass in various blues and rock bands, including The Brothers Ellis, Chowder Shouters, Zulu Junk Band, An Evening with the Garbageman, Voodoo Wa, Spare Tires, The Kentucky Fried Blues Band, and Mr. Danger & The Safety Foreign Boys. I have an unusual life in Japan with my wife from Shanghai and our two-year-old son who was born in Yokohama. My son David Jr. ("Jun") is well on the road to being trilingual speaking English, Japanese, and Chinese.
