Born in 1967 in the wonderful city of Amsterdam NL.
I fell in love with pianoplaying at age six. After the dog chewed up my wooden flute, my parents figured that my desire for pianolessons was probably a whim, since i had no discipline to keep up the horribly boring flutelessons they had me attend. So that's where my path as a self made musician started out, learning from watching others, listening to records and composing my own music. Being a hippie kid, i traditionally moved with my parents to our guru in India at age 8, where i spent most of my time till i was 14. In the commune, we had music groups and celebrations going on almost every day, often in the morning and evening. So that's where I started singing, kind of like how some people start out in church... Also, in the commune school i finally had pianolessons, yeeeyy!
And so on and so forth.. at age 22 i decided i needed to start playing an instrument i could carry around with me, as i was moving and travelling around the world. Enter my first guitar, given to me by my boyfriend at the time, who conveniently taught me basslines on it so i could accompany his African music :-). It took me about ten years to get over loving and hating this instrument, i have to admit, i'm still not very good at playing. After years of writing poetry and composing music being two separate passions in my life, finally, my first song was born, in 1993. You may ask what i've been up to until 2006: well, i settled down, which for a wildchild is a big thing, i've been blessed to have two children, which, as most professionals know, is a whole life path in itself.. In 2003 i started writing more and more lyrics to music and since a year or two i'm occasionally performing on small podia. Making music and sharing it with the world is my absolute no.1 passion when it comes down to the question of what do i want to be when i grow up. Well.. Hope you enjoy!
