Influences: some show flyers of the past Desperate Teenage Lovedolls was received as an instant cult classic when first released on the Los Angeles punk underground in 1984. Since then, the no budget super 8 film has gained international and aboveground praise. Bunny, Kitty, & Patch (Hilary Rubens, Jennifer Schwartz, & Janet Housden) are three teenage runaways who form the hottest all-girl band of all-time, The Lovedolls. Their meteoric rise to the top from a drug addled street life in Hollywood comes not without a price, thanks to sleazy rock manager, Johnny Tremaine (Steve McDonald). Rival all-girl gang The She Devils and their leader Tanya Hearst (Tracy Lea) have it in for our heroes, as do annoying mothers and psyche ward doctors. The film also features legendary LA Punk musicians Jeff McDonald, Phil Newman, Vicki Peterson, Annette Zilinskas & Dez Cadena. Directed by David Markey, the saga is continued in the 1986 sequel Lovedolls Superstar. Buddy Holly Oh Boy Written by - Sunny West, Bill Tilghman & N. "i saw elf power last night in montreal it was at a far away venue in a part of town i never go to. about 6 people showed up. elf power played first and they we're pretty good despite sound system problem. i left before zumm zumm but i didn't really care"
"I went to the tour opener on April 9 show in Greenville and it was a pretty cool show. I had never heard of the guys, except for the E6 connection. So I went and checked them out. Andrew grew up just down the road in Greer, so it was a homecoming show for him and the first time they had played G-Ville. Some of his family were there (his father, brother and others). There were only about 100 people in attendence at the most."
"Their opening band sucked (Zumm Zumm). They dancers stunk, literally, and wore tutu's. The only funny part was one of them was not wearing panties. EP put on a great show though. They played most, if not all of the Beggar Boys and about played a few covers (Brian Eno, the Bad Brains, the Wire, Iggy Pop amoung others). They ended the show with a 10 minute jam of "I Wanna Be Your Dog." Overall they played about 2 hours and it was great. They made a fan out of me and Andrew was a nice guy."
"I heard some songs from Zumm Zumm, and I hated it, I think they suck, sorry if I offended anyone."
"You're not alone. Sorry, to offend anyone too, but I'm a hater. Saw 'em live when they opened for Elf Power, they sucked hard. Shitty freak-out punk rock. I'm not sure if they or anyone is familiar with Sebadoh's earlier work, particulaly Eric Gaffney-era Sebadoh (which isn't the best), but that's what they reminded me of. Really lo-fi loud rock. Nothing interesting or original".
"Their dancers were smelly too. The dancer thing was ok at first, but really bugged me and the rest of the audience after about 5 minuites. the only funny/interesting part was when my brother pointed out to me that one of the dancers, who was wearing a skirt and a tutu, was not wearing underwear. I felt really embarassed for her, because several people noticed."
