I'd like to meet:
In the summer of 2007 ABED will be launching INQ magazine. The voice of British Asians. The magazine will be made up of articles, pieces and reviews submitted online by our readers, the best ones get published and revamped for exposure to over 20,000 readers nationwide!
INQ is tied very closely with the ABED website, and if you would like to get involved and learn more www.abed.org.uk is the first port of call! It acts as our international meeting point where we all discuss our ideas and look to make a positive impact on the world!
Built around a
clarity of image, word and social awareness, INQ takes form; from the
artists, thinkers and creators who are shaping a new multiethnic generation on
this Island ;
ABED is not just a forum website that asks people to post messages and
does nothing else! The website acts as a first port of call for all our
contributors, we are based in all over the UK, so the website is the hub of
creativity and all discussions, posts, articles, and photos can make their way
into our printed publication.
We create dialogue, which is then transferred into articles. The best way to
get familiar with ABED is to contribute
to the forums regularly. This will keep you updated on the developments at
ABED.
In our regular newsletters, we ask people to contribute on feature articles
we are putting together, and on a more regular basis we would like people to
cover the news in their area and to post their opinions on the events to the
rest of the ABED community. Our admin team will turn the best of these
posts into articles, which then get published in print for our magazine.
The authors of the best articles then get a percentage of the magazines sold,
which could mean earning up to £250 for an article!!. We also want your short
stories, poems, your essays, love songs and your freestyle raps, your ideas for
filming a documentary or making a short film, absolutely anything really!
We have been both
honoured and proud to serve the Asian British Community, and we thank our
readers, our wonderful staff, and everyone that has supported ABED
through these past few months. To better serve our readers, we appreciate all
feedback on articles, as well as any suggestions on the issues you would like to
see covered in the ABED Magazine.
