Petros Michopoulos, was born in 30/11/1972 in Athens, Greece. He first thrummed a guitar at the age of 13, as he was fascinated by his older sisters hard rock discs that made him daydream himself on the scene playing unending guitar solos! And even though he likes to test his ears in all different kinds of music, as a teenager he literally grew up with metal music.
Petros has participated in several bands in the past, one of these was Selefice, formed in 1989. Their one and only LP Where is the Heaven, released in 1993, is now considered to be one of the classics of the greek metal scene. After the breakup of Selefice in 1994, his relation with metal music was finally over. The next group was the greek-speaking alternative rock band of Akron Aoton (1995-1998) that gave around 40 live gigs some of which in participation with very important bands of the greek scene such as Diafana Krina and Lefki Simfonia. This band broke up for non musical reasons before they could release their work. In 2001 he created with 3 other musicians the indie/pop band Soho 6 who relesead the ep/cd "Fly" but in September 2003 this group was also driven to its end.
Petros at the time being fulfills his dream of self-expression in his home-studio where he composes and records his own music with the essential support of modern technology. Besides the guitar Petros also plays drums, bass and keys and recently has finally started to sing his own lyrics in greek. For about a year (May 2006-May 2007) he was the guitarist in the acoustic/folk rock/psychedelic group of Simon Bloom , with whom he has played a series of live gigs, included some very special supporting acts with great names like Sophie Solomon, Mark Lanegan and Isobelle Cambell, Jeff Martin (of the Tea Party) and the legendary ,Pavlov’s Dog.
He also participates in two tracks as special guest guitarist at the debut cd (out at the near future) of him friends My Sound Projector , a new one and great greek post rock - psychedelic band.
Petros have a life dream... To make music for films! So if you are a director, trust him or just try him! You don’t lose!
