About Me
Charles Torrence was born in Lemoore, California in 1973 and was raised in Oxnard, California for most of his life. Charles started DJing Hip Hop in 1989 while still attending High School. After five years of the Hip Hop scene he realized that type of music wasnt for him.
During a six month stay in Cologne, Germany in 2001 Charles was exposed to Dance Music and it became his passion. From that point on he spent the following years listening to and admiring some of the top Djs and producers in the industry, such as Darren Tate, Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Marco V, Way Out West, Mike Koglin, Paul Van Dyke, GMS, and Future Prophecy etc..
In January of 2006 he was booked for his first event at Club Heaven in Hollywood, CA. After a very successful debut and the overwhelming response from the crowd Charles was quickly offered a residency at Club Heaven. Charles currently holds residencies at Club Heaven, Thaj After Hours (Grand Avenue Night Club), and is a co-founder/resident of the group Dance Progression.
Charles has had the privilege of DJing with some of the most talented DJs and producers in the industry such as; Mark Norman, Darren Tate, Scott Bond, Pedro Del Mar, Marc Van Linden, Talla 2XLC, Jan De Vos (of 4 Strings), Martin Roth, and Jes (of Motorcycle). During this short time from his first event until present he has developed a growing and loyal following. Charles expects 2008 to be a great and exciting journey!
