About Me

Feed Your Head were a band from the Manchester area that started around 1986.The name came from a very obvious song by Jefferson Airplane the very psychedelic 'White Rabbit'.

In their life time they released 3 demos, had 2 singles and 2 full length studio L.P.'s.Plus featured on various compilation L.P.'s. F.Y.H. played live and toured with most of other 'punk' bands in the scene at the time. Visions of Change, Hex, Scream, Instigators, Oi Polloi, Amebix, Chumbawamba, Civilised Society, Government Issue, Thatcher on Acid, Dan, Mottek, Anti-sect, White Flag, Culture Shock, UK Subs, The Stupids,The Varukers, Electro Hippies.....the list is endless.

As far as I can recall Feed Your Head played around Europe 3 times. Apart from the 3 studio demo's F.Y.H. released the following records.

1) 'Nothing Ventured Nothing Gained' split with Hex on Words of Warning Records.

2) 'Realm of the Gods' E.P. on their own Crucial Climate label.

3) 'Stargazer' L.P.

4) 'The Missing Sound of Laughter' L.P.

Also various compilation L.P's -

'A Vile Peace' - Peaceville 1987 'Volnitza' - 1 in 12 Records 1989 'Sound of U.S. Colonies - Airstrip 1 UK' - Mystic Records 1989 (US) Some of the tracks from the 'Sound of the U.S. Colonies', including the F.Y.H. track - 'Living With A Gun' has been re-released on CD and available for download from iTunes and others.

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: southern.net/southern/label/WOW/disc.html
Band Members: Ray - Vocals, Mike - Drums, Rob - Guitar, Violin and Vocals,Chad - Drums and Vocals, Mick - Guitar and Violin, Gary - Rhythm guitar, Frank - Bass. All I know about the 3 most consistent members of F.Y.H. was what I heard well over 10 years ago.Rob is a Forest Ranger, Chad was last heard driving Juggernauts around the States and Frank was in another band who were possibly go to sign to a major label.I know what I'm doing because I'm typing this garbage into the computer.
Influences: The re-release of the 'Sound of the US Colonies' came as a complete surprise. If anybody just wants the F.Y.H. track get in touch and I'll email it you. The download website has listed the track incorrectly. If you do want to go down that route you have to click on 'Human Garbage' by Napalm Death to get the Feed Your Head track.I have emailed them about this, but to no avail. It's still worth checking the site out because you can listen to 30 seconds of each of the songs on the comp - www.emusic.com .If you want to the CD best to shop around but this is the first link that came up - www.cduniverse.com
