About Me

i'm just a girl who wants to make a difference. i serve a big-picture God who is not confined to the cage of my imagination--the kind of God you just can't explain and don't totally understand. i might push Jesus down your throat (consider yourself warned) but only because i am so excruciatingly in love that it's hard to keep from talking about Him. i think worship should transcend the walls of a building, that prayer should be as instinctive as a blinking, and that a life devoid of an impassioned relationship with God is one that is both empty and unfulfilled.
i'm drowning myself in a daily baptism, searching for saturation and no longer content for a weekly spritz of water on my tongue. i've dabbled in the shallows until i'm sick of my own lack of faith and fear of the unknown. there are deep things hidden in the heart waiting to spring up--underground pools of purity that surface pollution has not touched; there are sojourners around the heart dying of thirst. i long to be something real. i thirst to see change in my generation. i am desperate for a lifestyle that is consistent in word and in action, because holiness is, at the heart of it all, a verb. i am a seeker of truth and an advocate of a standard that is higher than the "accepted norm." still waters run deep. deep calls unto deep. listen for the sound of an abundance of rain...

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People who are passionate about making a difference. People who are bruised, broken, dirty, dying, angry, hurt, tormented, and in need of water--not just a drop on their tongues, but the rolling, crushing, justice-bringing water of life that changes the face of stone walls.

i’m in love

I heard a question this week that has started changing the way I think. Very simply, someone asked me, "what do you think God feels about you?" I know the "pat" scripture answers we shoot back without...

"God, where were You?"

I've been thinking about Abraham and Isaac this morningspecifically how at just at the right moment the Lord stopped Abraham from sacrificing his son. I think it has almost been to my detriment at ti...

Life in Disguise

I finally went to see "The Dark Knight" last night, and have felt somewhat "haunted" ever since.  Today, I feel extra observant while performing the most mundane tasks, I hear drums and trombones...

Here I raise mine Ebenezer; hither by thy help I'm come; and I hope, by thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home. I woke up yesterday morning with the first line of this verse of "Come Thou Fount o...

my companion, my heart

A few weeks ago, Pastor said something in his sermon that has really stayed with me.  He was talking about the marriage of Jacob to both Leah and Rachel in the Old Testament, and how Jacob loved ...

If ever there was a true depiction of Christ's love in action in the modern world, it is in the life and actions of Gladys Staines.  Her husband Graham and their two sons Timothy and Phillip lost...

I've just finished disk four of Mike Bickle's twenty-part series on the Song of Songs, and continue to find his teaching enthralling. In chapters one and two, we see the progression of the bride in he...
